Food was really good. Service left a lot to be desired even by English standards (which when you travel abroad, you realise how low our standards are.) I'm not expecting silver service, but just for example, our cutlery was just chucked on a dirty (outside) table, not evennon a serviette. The waiting staff either looked scruffy and like they were walking their dog or going on a night out rather than professionals working with food...Also not a criticism, but a request, please label your cakes etc for allergens.I gave 3 stars because the food was really tasty.

Last Thursday evening we booked a table to have a meal at Java and Jazz. (My first time to eat there) When we arrived it was fairly quiet with just a family with a couple of kids finishing their meal. We waited about 25 minutes to place our order and eventually got up and went to the front where coffee is served and asked for someone to come take our order. They said they’d be with us in two minutes. After 5 minutes more minutes we were still waiting to just place an order so we decided to leave. As we were leaving we were told that they were only doing the very basics in the kitchen because of a shortage of staff. Sadly not the service we had expected.

I had an amazing lunch here the other day, the vegetarian lasagna was amazing! The staff was really kind, and the place has a welcoming feeling to it. The service was great. I will definitely come here again.

Incredible coffee shop and resturant!Have been a few times, the staff and owner are extremely friendly and welcoming. Picked up a couple of oat coffees yesterday and the service was brilliant. Will be my first stop in Forest Row every time I come in the future!

Great selection of food on the menu. Food was tasty and good portion sizes, reasonably priced. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

Rubbish food and what we did eat then made me sick when I got home……….don’t eat there.Ate lunch here today, never in my life have I had just a disappointing experience. Very slow service, got up to order our food to see a handful of young people chatting away in the kitchen and serving area, oblivious to customers sitting at tables. Ushered back to our table and took our order, another couple came in and the situation repeated itself..Coffee good despite the hair on the side of the mug, dirty fork which I replaced as staff still chatting away, saw staff leaning against kitchen equipment, no aprons, no hygiene gloves. Starters okay, my bruschetta was burnt easy mistake to make. My partners Broth was hot water with noodles and veg, no broth to be seen. I spoke to the staff, no apology at all, reordered to then have a pasta dish with a thin tomatoey sauce, 3 bits of chicken with lots of melted cheese, no taste or seasoning at all. No urgency at all to serve the second main, I had eaten half my pizza by then.I gave a staff member my name and number and asked the owner to call me as I did not want to pay for the meal. She said “ it’s on the house”, I was a tad taken aback by this and asked why, “due to the broth’. Fair enough… I wonder how many times she has said that….Returned home and I start to feel sick, within one hour of eating the pizza I was violently sick, not once but three times, clearly the meat was not cooked on the pizza. The peppers and onion where crunchy so that now makes sense. I wonder if the owners, James or John will call me… shocking customer service and terrible food.Off to make a cuppa to get rid of that delightful sick taste.

Good things: really nicely furnished & decorated, nice atmosphere & staff, redbush tea - yay! says my partner. And delicious coffee. We broke our long journey there at about 3.30 on Sunday afternoon because I was desperate for a cup of tea - but regular English breakfast tea was out of stock. So disappointing! I understand that deliveries of your usual brand might be affected by one thing or another, but how about having an emergency box of Yorkshire tea in the cupboard to offer people who just need a cup of ordinary caffeine tea. Everything else was great, so it's a reluctant 3 star, but Tea supply for a place like this ( with very nice looking cakes) seems fundamental to me.

Absolutely incredible experience! We visited for my partner's birthday and I thought I would be cheeky and ask to bring in a cake. This was no bother for the team who really went the extra to light candles, decorate the cake, jazz up the deserts and really make the birthday feel special.Additionally, the food was beautiful, the staff were attentive and fun and we never once felt like we went without. My first visit in 10+ years and I can't believe I've been missing out all this time. Thanks all!

Tried this place back in the summer and forgot to leave a review! WOW the pasta we had was really nice. Had some cool polite young staff come and bring our food which was a nice touch. Also the fact you can sit outside is also really nice in the summer!
