Lovely place, lots of areas to sit, dog friendly. The cod is amazing. Definitely recommend stopping here to eat

My husband and myself had a late birthday celebration meal here mid week. We always enjoy our food here, the portions are just the right size to allow you to enjoy three courses and the quality is always outstanding. The staff are attentive but not in your face. Highly recommend.

Had a beautiful lunch at the Neville Crest and Gun today, we sat in the garden in the sun. The waiting staff were friendly and prompt. Food was delicious and the pub itself well set out and clean. Well worth a visit. We have been often and will definitely visit again.

We had an early evening meal here on a Friday. There are four seating areas; in the main building which is cozy, the spacious and bright conservatory, an outdoor area under a canopy and the large garden. We had a table in the conservatory which later became fairly noisy as people came in, but the area is spacious. There was a wide range of customers, from older people enjoying companionship and friendship, young couples having a romantic meal, and families with young children. The staff were hospitable and friendly without being too casual. We ordered three very different main meals across the menu, which thankfully wasn't overcrowded with choice. Food quality was perfect and the evenings chef clearly knew what they were doing. Ramsey's Kitchen Nightmares wouldn't have anything to do at the Nevill Crest and Gun apart from enjoying a great evening.

Expensive pub restaurant. Does what it says on the tin, and the food is good, just expensive with it. Some atmosphere, but more meeting with friends rather than dates.

Amazing location let down by the food.If a cosy warm country style pub is your thing, you'll be happy here. But, if you want good food, give it a miss.Our cola came out to us in dirty glasses, which was disappointing.We ordered the Korean chicken wings with Kimchi salad for £6.25 expecting to get 5 or 6 to share. 3 came out with soggy fatty skin. Flavour was good but the Kimchi salad was not very good.We then ordered a steak burger with fries; although we were first to get our food at lunch time, the fries were cold. However, the burger was nice as to the coleslaw.The fish cake with a spring onion and tomato salad was very poor. Dry fish cake, 1 piece of spring onion and 3 slices of soft Garden tomato buried under a mound of rocket.The fries were replaced when asked btw. The bill came to £39 for two of us.Overall. Lovely location, warm, dining room is stunning just a shame about the food.

We visited here on our way back from a venue and phoned on the off chance for a table, which they kindly did. Friendy and very accommodating staff, we ordered two large fish and chips, beautiful, freshly cooked, best fish n chips we've tasted in a long time. Washed down with a glass of wine. Clean premises. Would definitely go again.

This place is very family orientated, & serve very nice food. I enjoyed every mouthful. Although I couldn't eat it all. As the portion of fish was huge. By very nice. My lovely 3legged dog enjoyed her dinner, when I took home what fish I had left. Highly recommend you all to give it a go.

Delicious food, great atmosphere and wonderfully staff. Highly recommend.
