The Black Lion Inn Restaurant in Wealden

Just taken over as the new owners! Previous owner been in for 13 years and so sad that the pub has been run down. We are running the pub with its six letting rooms and comfy pub area with great pub food. Function room is a working progress hoping to get it open later in the year. Look forward to hosting different events over the year. We welcome dogs and children with menus for all.

Absolutely loved our stay. The host was spot on and professional throughout our stay. Again, loved it and will definitely be back

Tried to stay here august bank holiday. Sadly the room was not as described. No chance to experience food as we were not able to stay as only one bed in room and we had booked a twin. Still waiting on a refund despite numerous emails. A very sad experience so would advise people to phone and book as information is not as advertised. There wouldn’t have even been room to sleep on a floor, not an ideal option at this price.

Stopped for a pint on Sunday, and without doubt the stickiest bar I've encountered since my days as a metal head. An occasional bit of cleaning would go a long way to making this pub worth visiting

Booked a room here, paid in advance, confirmed by email 3 days in advance turned around 6pm to be told there was no room available. The landlord Nigel refuses responsibility blaming it on his booking system - and refuses to give any refund. Strongly suggest avoid this place, unless you also want to be ripped off.[in response to the owners comments - the booking was via Google, and via the recommended provider - a service the owner pays for. The booking emails clearly state the room has a single and a double bed, and payment was made in advance for this. The owner has refused to respond to polite emails on the subject, and so a month later I have posted this review - which I stand by. I would strongly suggest avoid this place]

Very good rest stop for post-work drinks. Featuring a car park, relaxing environment and comfy chairs this is the kind of place you could fall asleep in! Friendly owner and reasonable prices.

A lovely stay for a couple of days, the food was good the staff very friendly and helpful but the rooms are looking rather sad

Great Service. We popped over for a drink later in the evening after eating out locally. The staff are friendly and the bar man (I didnt catch his name ) went out of his way to make us feel welcome. Even managed to get some ice cream for us. We will definitely be returning to try out the food. Thank you.

We loved it here! It's under new management. Great food, good selection of drinks and Charlie behind the bar was friendly and welcoming. I would highly recommend going here!

We stopped for a night at the Blacksmith’s Arms in Halland on a short tour of the south coast.An incredibly warm welcome for us and dog friendly too 😄The room was clean, comfortable and nicely furnished.The pub is a cosy traditional pub with a good range of drinks and excellent food. Our evening food was freshly cooked scotch egg followed by Sunday roast - beautifully cooked roast beef with all the trimmings and breakfast was a full English with very good ingredients and an eggs Benedict both of which were delicious.We stayed on 25th October and the current managers had only taken over a couple of weeks earlier and doing a grand job.😄😄
