Great food, good value for money and excellent service

We went for Valentine's Day dinner last night and had a very pleasant 3 course meal, for £29 per head, plus drinks.We shared a mixed cheese starter which was delicious, I chose duck as my main course, my husband chose pork (though wished he'd chosen duck too 😁 ) and we had crumble for dessert - all very nice.I've no idea of their usual pricing as we've not been for a while, but I hope to return soon.

It's sign claims it's a gastro pub but the vibe is definitely more cafe than pub. Aside from a couple of specials (which were too heavy for a Saturday lunch) the menu was pretty basic. Baguettes, jacket potatoes, burgers. Nothing to complain about but nothing to rave about either. Staff was friendly.

I had my wedding reception at The Blacksmiths Inn yesterday. We had a lovely day and all our guests were very impressed. The food was lovely and the service was great. The girls working there are lovely and went above and beyond for us. Great experience all round and would highly recommend
