Room for Improvement! This establishment has it right in many ways... the service was quick, efficient, and friendly. However there are 3 things that were so much of a turn-off they really brought my rating down for them considerably. 1) The food is VERY over-priced. £19 for a Sunday roast is too much for a small country pub. It was tasty but the portion size was nothing to write home about, and 2) the cleanliness in the public areas and also the WC's is, well, quite dirty! and 3) they automatically include 12.5% for service on the bill (even for just a party of 2 people). I am a big tipper and not afraid to give, BUT I absolutely hate it when establishments assume they should receive a tip and, basically, intimidate people into leaving that tip. Yes, you can request for it to be removed, but everyone knows that most people do not want to do that and they just pay it. It is simply the wrong way to go about it. In my opinion number 1 and number 3 are just too much of a turn-off and they negate the great good and service.

Authentic English Pub experience!!! The real deal. Friendly family run & wonderful old World charm. Nice deck with great view at the rear garden. Food is super fresh & tasty.

Gorgeous pub especially on a sunny day sitting outside looking over the valley. Very dog friendly, staff love the dogs! Food nice too. Honeycomb ice cream amazing!

When visiting the area we made a last minute booking for a table for a family of eleven. We entered a beautiful historic pub with a wide fireplace. The service was second to none, the local beer (Harvey’s) was perfect and the food selection was wide and superbly cooked. There is limited parking in their car park but you can park on the road outside. Highly recommended. It’s just unfortunate we live so far away otherwise this pub would be our local.

Lovely meal, good beer and made to feel very welcome. A very old pub with a lot of charm. Really tasty chef cooked food.

Friendly service, food was really really nice! The cod was so fresh, probably the most fresh one I had in the past 5 years. I’d come back again soon.

Couldn’t find any place to eat around where I was traveling and randomly found this pub. Very old pub indeed and has lots of history in it. The inside is quite small. However, the seatings outside were plentiful and really has beautiful view of the countryside. I enjoyed my lunch over here and would come back again in near future if I am around the area.

Excellent little country pub. The food was outstanding. One of the best Moules Mariner I have had for a long time. Although it need more bread to soak up the excellent sauce. This was provided but at £3 extra seemed to me to be rather high. However the fish and chips were sublime. The pub is quite small inside with a small carpark. It's rather 'tired' overall. The best place is outside in the garden facing fields.Overall definitely worth a visit. I for one will go again.

Great to be back. Ate in the garden surrounded by bees and flowers with a perfect view. Fresh and tasty food. Well kept drinks. Cheer, thoughtful staff. On a Saturday the garden was empty. Madness! Book a table today
