When I and my party of four visited last Monday 2nd May, the place was very busy but the the staff were doing their best to cope. We had quite a long wait to get served. I found the menu a bit limited for my choice, so I settled on fish and chips but was informed that they had run out, so I chose the rib eye steak, to be cooked well done but it turned up medium and was not of the highest quality, a bit fatty. The waitress offered to replace it for a well done steak and this was an improvement but it was still fatty. Certainly not the best steak I've had.All the other food was very good and my guests were pleased with their meals. The desserts were excellent. The staff were attentive and friendly.I was impressed by the support for Ukraine policy at £5/ main meal.

Awesome big garden with stunning views. Great food and drinks and wonderful friendly service from all the staff that we met. We stayed one night and hope to visit again soon as it was such a lovely experience.

Used to be one if my regulars (late seventies to mid-eighties)..... a proper boozer with "proper" locals. Now it's a pseudo-restaurant and expensive too. Guess it rather depends on what floats your boat. I have a lot of happy memories of how it was though.

We stopped by to have a roast dinner after an alpaca walking experience at the spring farm alpacas. The service at The Griffin Inn was impecable, the beef roast dinner was one of the best I’ve ever had. We really enjoyed the sunny day and having lunch at their terrace. Must stop by

Linguine and a steak. Fantastic. Never had a bad experience here love it. Choice of in the bar, in the restaurant, on the patio or on the picnic tables on the grass with a stunning view.

·

The best beer garden in Sussex, with beautiful views and on the edge of some excellent walks. Super wine list, food is good (if a little pricey for the portion sizes).

I'm going to title this review 'Simple Soup'. My friend and I lunched here today. I have 16 or more years of history with this place. Many a birthday had and family get together. It's been a while since my return. Our order was scallops, carrot and coriander soup and steak. The scallops were more flounce and no flavour as well as being cold. The steak is pretentiously priced and served uninviting cold. But the simple soup won the day. It was warm, tasty and hearty. More positively the reception and welcoming and service of the staff is second to none.

A very thoughtfully devised menu, combined with an impressive wine list. First rate food, well presented. Good service, nice ambience.

The wonderful quaint village of fletching hosts The Griifin in...set right in the middle of the village its very heart. The garden has a view to die for and the food is pretty good. Their rooms are tastefully decorated and comfortable.

The atmosphere walking in to this beautifully preserved gem of a pub with the smell & warmth of the wood fires and friendly staff was off the chart. The whole place is very cosy & inviting including the more chilly glass extension leading into expansive & pretty gardens. They were rammed for Sunday lunch & rightly so... The prices were high but fair, their menu was attractive & included local produce. One of my new faves
