The Middle House in Wealden

Attended the Carvery night which is now on a Wednesday, this used to be every Monday. Buy has changed now. Thankfully nothing else has changed and is is as great as ever. Good size portions and the dauphinoise potato is incredible

Nice pub! Staff were good. Just don't order a burger because they are very average burgers. I personally think of you are going to have a burger on the menu and charge £15 for it it should be a pretty special one!

The best restaurant service and food I've had in years. Hands down the best dining experience in the area. Friendly staff, great food, nice wine. Food was brought out together on hot plates and tasted great. Easy to.see why you have to book. We'll be back, thanks

Lovely pub, great atmosphere and friendly staff. We enjoyed a large family get together here and everyone enjoyed their meal. Despite being late we were never rushed. The ales were great but the only disappointment of the evening was the bottle of Argentinian Malbec we ordered, which only became palatable when drunk along with food. Well worth a visit.

Thank you for a really wonderful meal. The venison pie was delicious. Your waiting staff were attentive and professional. A pleasure to eat in the back extension. The first meal I’ve had in ages where someone had thought seriously about the room acoustics. Just the right level of chatter without killing the atmosphere. Well done.

Had a very nice lunch there this week.Very good service,log fire blazing away.Only gave 4 stars because one of the staff was refering to 3 elderly ladies as "you guys"!Wrong on every level.We are not in the USA.Show some respect!!

This very large and architecturally interesting 16th century eatery also has a modern restaurant extension and nice garden to the rear and is popular. For me though, it failed to impress as it only had two vegetarian main courses - a veggie burger or a risotto. The meat/fish menu, however, is very large and the carnivores in our party seemed pleased with their chosen fare. When vegetarianism and veganism is on the increase I feel this restaurant is missing a trick.

Simply one of our favourite restaurants in the area. It's a pub out from and very much a restaurant out the back, meaning you essentially get two different experiences, depending on where you sit and the food is amazing every time. Highly recommended.

Stayed at The Middle House on Wednesday 1st and Thursday 2nd December. Easily accessible carpark, and easy check-in! Room was excellent with great views over the valley! Massive four poster bed was very comfortable!In the bar, three hand pulled ales were on form and Kirin and other ales available too! Very good selection of drinks! Bar area with welcoming fireplace is excellent!Restaurant and brasserie were also very comfortable and evening meals and breakfast were very much enjoyed.All staff were very friendly and helpful! I do recommend The Middle House and look forward to returning!
