Such a beautiful hotel, Owners Philip and Nicky are so lovely made my wife and I very welcome, the breakfast is first class plenty to choose from, cereals, fresh fruit salad and a brilliant cooked breakfast, bedrooms are very clean and tidy, plenty of onsite parking, great location if you need a day out in Brighton, Hastings, and Eastbourne. Can't thank Philip and Nicky enough for making our holiday that extra special, would 100% highlyrecommend this hotel

Excellent breakfast comfortable if a little compact room. Hosts made us welcome and introduced us to the hotel policies. Exceptionally clean and good use made of available space in a converted traditional and historic building. Nice well maintained garden area. The only niggle was the road noise late into the night and early morning. If we stay there again we would request one of the rooms at the rear of the property. Overall a very pleasant two night break at an interesting property run by lovely hosts.

A brilliant stay, the owners were very friendly, pleasant & helpful. The hotel was very clean, tidy & the rooms very well facilitated. The food was outstanding, both for supper & breakfast, a with a good selection of beers, wines & spirits. I would highly recommend staying.

Now we’ve found this little gem of a hotel we’ll be keeping it in mind for the next time we visit the area to see friends. Nice comfortable bed, superb breakfast, lovely couple running the hotel.

Excellent & friendly hotel. Nicky & Philip we're very accommodating. Lots of nice little touches around the property. The dinner & breakfast were 5 star. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We would definitely recommend it.

My partner and I booked the Olde Forge for a 2-night stay and at first all was fine - the room was clean and breakfasts were nice. However, on the day we left we received an angry call from the owners of the hotel blaming us of burning the carpet with hair straighteners in our room. I assured them more than once that I had been extra careful, never even placing the straighteners on the floor, yet they wouldn’t believe me, insisting that I had done it. I felt disheartened and disappointed, having just had had a lovely weekend and paid £170 for their services - now being blamed so aggressively of something I hadn’t done. I even asked for a photo proof and once they said where the supposed burnt marks where, I was even more stunned as I hadn’t even been in that part of the room when straightening my hair (+ I never placed the straighteners on the carpet). Thinking about it now, the burnt marks they think they saw might have been chair dents from a chair I moved from that place to the other side of the room. Whatever it was, I am left with a sad experiences and a sad review and I have not received an apology from either of the owners and feel very disappointed how they treated me as their paying customer.

What a treasure of a find.We were staying due a family funeral, however had a very pleasurable stay. The food is excellent and service second to none. Our hosts were professional and had a great sense of humour. Our room was comfortable and had a balcony. An added bonus as a smoker!Our evening meal was delicious as was breakfast. There seemed to be a vast choice for breakfast despite this being quite a small establishment. Nothing was too much trouble and we would definitely stay there again. Very good value for money. 10/10!
