Sunday lunch ok not great, strange to see child in highchair behind bar in a pub

Another great Sunday lunch with the family, in my opinion not only the best value around our area but also the best food too. And believe me we have tried all the others! You can expect a proper carvery lunch with a choice of 3 meats, plenty of vegetables, plus Yorkshire pudding, gravy, sauces etc. The small portion is such good value and is plenty for kids and senior citizens alike. But if you are really hungry, go for the Standard size which allows you to have two different meats on a bigger plate - so more room for that extra roastie (or 2)!All this plus a good range of well kept Harvey's real ales, often 3 or 4 to choose from.Perfect.

Service was friendly but slow and disorganised, especially considering how few people were in. Food took a while and was unremarkable when it did arrive, but was hot and tasted like standard pub grub. All in all, it was OK but not a must go destination. Sure there is better in area.

Lovely little pub, very family friendly and have a fantastic play area for the children. Does a nice selection of food and bar snacks.

We finally had a table of 6 after messing them around with numbers for a few days, this wasn't a problem for them.Lovely roast dinner for Mother's Day.Thank you.

Took my auntie mid week. Had the home made lasagna and it was gorgeous! Melt in the mouth pasta! Staff were lovely too. Didn't have starters nor desert and went home with a full content tummy!

This was my first time at the Pig and Butcher, with 17 members of my family. We arranged a visit for Sunday carvery, after a 2 mile ramble. We were greeted by a roaring fire in the bar, which had a light modern interior and the restaurant area was very clean and tidy. Everyone enjoyed their meal, which was super tasty, unlike previous carvery's we've had, which have been rather dry and bland. Parsnips, pork crackling and red cabbage were particularly delicious. The staff were friendly and attentive, even offering to swap a couple of sides for the fussiest of the children! Mums said the puddings were yummy, dads were delighted to see Harveys and ample draft beers and ciders on sale, and the children had fun playing in the outside play area.Thank you Pig and Butcher, we will definitely be visiting again x

I was there to celebrate the pasting of a close family friend. I haven't been to a pub since prior to covid 19. Staff team were friendly, pub garden was lovely with a swing slide and a climbing frame available, I was unable to try them out as they had kids on probably nothing worse than to have a big kid like me to play on them.

The menu changes every day but you can trust everything's ng will be great. The fact they change up the menu so often based on what they can get fresh locally shows how talented the chefs are. Leave room for drinks and desert after dinner! This is a great place to have a great dinner with no rush. Enjoy!
