An acceptable afternoon tea, nothing fantastic or amazing, certainly not dainty or delicate in any way. They NEVER pick up the phone so it's almost impossible to reach them. Ended up booking through head office!

Just come back from a short break at the Roebuck. While there is no denying that the hotel rooms need some renovation as they are looking tired and in places in need of some repair etc.. The fact that all the Roebucks staff provide really excellent customer service, are genuinely friendly and that it is VERY clean is a massive plus.. I'm sure that many guests return because of this and I will be too.... P.s. the food was delicious too! Its a definite YES from me.x

Staff were all kind and helpful. Rooms clean and smelt lovely. Also I'm coeliac, not only did they know what it was, they had a gluten free menu. Nice to have a choice of food to eat and dessert 😁

Excellent 👌 as always, bar and waiting staff very friendly, food lovely. Only thing is the piece of ceiling paper hanging in the bar area, has been since before pandemic, piece of tape and a step ladder would suffice 🤞👍, looking forward to our next stay.

Staff were nice and the food was ok but OMG the room! Don't be fooled by the quaint pictures of the front, the hotel accommodation is in the rear extension probably built in the 60s. Clear evidence of mold and damp, plaster badly blown I think the only thing keeping it up was the wall paper. The desk with the kettle on had the rear legs cut short so they could rest on the radiator pipes and there is no way the table lamp would pass a PAT test. Bathroom looks like it hasn't been touched since 1972.

The room was looking a little tired and the chicken burger a little dry, don't let this put you off as the brekfast was banging and the Guinness was goood.

The website makes the pub and restaurant look really nice. The menu looks great. In reality it's tired, old-fashioned and poorly managed. We went today for lunch and the food was lack-lustre, veg frozen and poorly presented. Two of us are vegan and they served one of us a meat-based pie in error after we checked and were assured it was the vegan mushroom pie (it was chicken and mushroom) and gave the person who ordered it the vegan pie. We then waited for a replacement only for another vegan pie to be served to our omnivore! Then a half hour wait for the correct meal to eventually come. Nobody came out to apologise for the further delay and second error. Poor customer service. Poorly managed franchise. We won't be back.

Friendly staff and I feel bad but bad experience and terrible food.Should have known when we arrived to find the once busy pub / restaurant was completely empty at a lunchtime on a Sunday.Taken over by people that aren’t doing it right unfortunately. When ordering there were multiple mistakes from the bar staff who didn’t understand what we were ordering and also charged us for extras we didn’t want.Photo of menu can reality for an example.Tasted like microwaved and was thin pre-sliced packet beef. They refunded us without any fuss and were very friendly. The staff mentioned that the supplier does the cuts of meat etc so they have no control over how the food comes out but that’s no excuse for the quality. On par with school cafeteria food. Also the person next to us returned coffees as being cold and when they remade them he returned them again as being stone cold once again. Just a sad experience really and £12 per roast so not overly cheap. Hopefully they fix the issues before they close down.

We went there on a rainy Sunday. The place it’s nice and has characterised. However, food wasn’t great. Vegetable (broccoli and Cauliflower was crunchy as some say raw). After serving food nobody came to ask if we need anything . Definitely service wise was 1 star.
