The Sloop in Wealden

We stopped in this lovely pearl while cycling from London to Brighton. It was lunchtime and we got a couple of shandy beers, some cauliflower with truffle and cheese, and some chips. We settled outside. Awesome location, the staff was friendly, and the food great!

Popped in for Thursday lunch, lovely sunny day and plenty of room in the garden. Friendly staff on hand to take orders for food and drink at your table. A large choice of items on the menu, from quick snacks to full blown meals. Highly recommend the king prawn dish with spicy mango sauce, which can be starter or main. Not often you have to cut prawns into three to eat they were so large. Fairly expensive but worth every penny. Recommended.

I don't normally write reviews, but felt I had to write one today for the lovely experience we had. Staff very attentive and welcoming. Food delicious and hot, when served. Could not ask for a better experience

Fantastic atmosphere, food and staff. Had the wagyu beef burger and it was incredible! The staff were friendly and professional. Highly recommend!

Great staff food tasted ok but very expensive for your normal generic pub . We wanted generic pub food but this place unfortunately didn't do that . Ideal for a date night but a nice pub lunch isn't it

We got married at The Sloop in September. After being let down by our original venue, Rob and his team came to our saviour!The planning of the day was easy, reflected in the day itself; chilled and seamless making the day just perfect. The beautiful garden lent itself to the welcome drinks and then on to enjoying our delicious wedding breakfast here. The traditional pub was cosy for the evening, one side for great cheese selection and the other for our mini dance area.Thank you Rob and the team for making our day so very special and exactly what we wanted.

Lovely lunch today. Food was great and so was the beer! I’ll definitely be going back.

Stopped here for a Ploughman’s after a long walk. Lovely pub, great selection of tasty food and good beer (according to my husband). They have an adults only section in their garden, but plenty of places for kids to play. Make sure you stop in if you’re in the area. Dog friendly too.

If I could give this place 10/5 I would. I had the most delicious meal I have had in a long time here. The food is out of this world and reasonable too. The staff were beautiful, friendly and very attentive without being over the top. The place has a fabulous atmosphere and is homely. I would strongly recommend a visit here, though you'll need a designated driver if anyone wants to drink.

Lovely pub, nice staff and food carefully created from the kitchen. Good for those staying at Campsite Wowo as you can walk through the woods to get there.Just mind your inside if you're over 6ft!
