The Sussex Ox in Wealden

Perfect setting. Dined al fresco. Not especially comfortable experience on picnic benches. Service was really good.Food wise. lamb sticks and halloumi fries snack/starters were lovely. Roasts were fine, but not special. Overall good value Would come back but probably choose to eat inside.

Sussex Ox was incredible. The setting was idilic, the food was AMAZING and the local drink menu was delicious. I’ve never felt so at home in such a great venue with insane food. The service was impeccable, there when you needed them but not over bearing. I had been told about the Sussex Ox by a friend and it lived up to every expectation and then some. The most amazing afternoon and makes me want to go back for another day of food & drinks .

Unfortunately the food did not live up to the hype especially as we found a big bit of string mixed in the burger patty, enough to choke on. Even though this was made clear to the staff and my wife didn't eat the rest if the burger they made no offer to take it off the bill. This was quite disappointing. The views were nice however and the serving staff were friendly.

Great service in general. Beautiful place, beautiful garden, food was divine, roast was best in sussex. Molly was a fantastic waitress really look after us, I definitely recommend this place if your in area. 10/10

Excellent. Good service, very friendly staff, beer was good. Someone mentioned earlier that not enough for Vegetarians. We had three off the bar snacks menu that were vegetarian. It is expensive I suppose but worth it. Love the Lamb chips. Dogs were made very welcome.

Worth a visit A great little pub. Children and dog friendly plus great food.There are some great country walks and bridle paths right on the door stop too..Also plenty of space in the garden in the summer. Nice open fires in the winter 👍

Lovely pub with nice views. Food was outstanding, every mouth full was so yummy, we can't wait to go back. Can't praise the food enough.

The loveliest staff!!! Gorgeous atmosphere, delicious food. The only thing is I wish there were more vegetarian options. I had the mint and pea risotto and I wasn’t a fan, unfortunately it was a little on the salty side and I just didn’t like the combination of the two flavours. But other than that this place is just so gorgeous.

One of the best burgers and steaks we ever had: meat is from their own farm. Superb meringues too. Highly recommended.

Fabulous, fabulous roast dinner, served during semi lockdown in the outdoor heated marquee. So much trouble they’ve gone to in order to accommodate outdoor eating- grateful thanks to them! Beautiful location too. Forgot to take photos, it was so good!!
