Cobbs at Englefield in West Berkshire

VERY BAD EXPERIENCE AND RUDE BEHAVIOUR FROM A STAFF MEMBER :- I booked a table for Fathers Day Breakfast ( 19th June ) for 10 am . The cafe opens at 10Am . I requested outside sitting while booking . BUT BY MISTAKE I FORGOT MY GLASES AT HOME . So I requested inside table if possible when arrived ( We were the 1st one entering the cafe as mentioned it opens at 10 am only ) . Sitting in sun without shades / Glasses gives me bad headaches so I requested for inside table politely.I was told No . There were easily 20/25 tables inside available. We said Ok but the worst part was when we were told we can’t even have a table in big Marquee they have ( Again 12/15 tables were empty) there THAT TIME !! We were given separate table which was very open and had a small umbrella on it .We were very disappointed . We had our breakfast and left at 11.30 ish . When we left that time 90% OF THE TABLES INSIDE and easily over 10 tables INSIDE MARQUEE WERE STILL EMPTY. We clearly saw staff member offering inside tables to people who were Walk ins ??I wish staff member Sr lady who said No Twice ( FOR INSIDE & MARQUEE) Was little considerate and understanding that If someone is requesting due to health issue .. Specially when tables are not even reserved .. I won’t recommend this place to anyone ever !! Very Disappointed and Heartbroken experience .

Excellent farm shop with lots of interesting products many fresh and local, plus on site butcher. Great cafe with good food and friendly table service. We liked it!

Really enjoyed my 1st visit to Cobbs. My lunch - a toasted chicken and bacon sandwich - was delicious. The team are lovely and very efficient. I'll definitely visit again.

Farm shop is sooo lovely. Tonnes of choices and the quality is great and local. The cafe is really good too, sitting outside is ideal in the sunshine and the food always tastes fresh and of high quality. Nice options in food too, always feels healthy. Ice creams sound soooo cool too! I've posted the tasty flavours for you to browse...Extreme Brownies really are incredible!! 🤤🤤🤤

Such a lovely place to spend a sunny afternoon. The food and the staff were brilliant and we can't wait to return. Thank-you everyone at Cobb's for making our visit so wonderful today! Laurence & Kate ❤️❤️

Easy to access. Nice farm shop.Delicious ice cream!

Enjoyed a Bavette steak with tenderstem broccoli for lunch. The surroundings felt a bit cluttered and busy, so despite the light and the height of the ceiling it didn't feel relaxing. The price was reasonable.The farm shop has good quality produce, but is a bit on the expensive side.

On site parking, beautiful farm shop (albeit pricey), lovely staff. Wonderful coffee and warm scones! Not been to a place where they warm up the scones, was such a lovely touch! A really lovely bright setting for breakfast, brunch or an afternoon coffee. Can't wait to go back!

Went for lunch on a sunny Monday in March before we visited the gardens of Englefield House. My daughter had raved about the place but after our visit I have no reason why. My husband had the beans on toast without the egg for £10. Two tiny bits of chorizo were detected in there for the price we paid. Me, I have to confess here that I like cooking and am a cook who experiments a lot. There was nothing on the menu that grabbed me at all. I was looking forward to maybe avocado, bacon, egg on a muffin but no. I ended up choosing the vegan burrito. Big mistake. Just carb overload it being filled with rice and a little bit of beans and avocado. Sweet potato fries were good tho. Won't be returning. And as for the price of the shop produce.... 🤔 😱😱

Some very nice produce but some are unreasonably expensive such as 1 litre of Rude health Oatmilk 3.79. The meat, veg and delicatessen counter are great, not cheap but good produce.
