Top service, top food! Beautiful old style pub. Well worth a visit.

Not really impressed. Roast beef overcooked and tasteless, albeit tender. Mashed potato was disgusting and microwaved. Starter of creamed mushrooms on brioche was palatable. Puddings ( sticky toffee and rice pudding) were poor and sent back. Not charged for them. Service and staff were good however and I enjoyed the Malbec wine! Also dog friendly and attractive pub, inside and outside. All in all, ok.

Second Sunday lunch here, good portions, lovely range of veg. Sat outside in the sunshine. Enjoyed by all. We will be back.

The young staff were excellent and the evening meal was good. There was a problem with a dripping tap and we had to search for the staff to hand our key I

Called in for a light lunch. Had the soup of the day (parsnip)Terrible, watery, no flavour can only think it wasnt made that day. Other party members had starters. Chicken goujons were dry and tasteless. I guess if you visit a pub on Sunday lunchtime and you dont have the Sunday roast its not going to work!! Shame the food used to be good here

Mixed review of our visit. This was our first time at this pub, we are new to the area. The service was friendly, although it could have been better. No wine menu, the waitress was having to guess what wine was available and then forgot to tell us the price, that could have been awkward!! The food was mixed. I had the steak pie which was tasty but short of filling, the pie was very flat. My wife had the lamb shank which was OK, not very tasty and the mash was poor. Our friends had a burger which was good and the mac and cheese which was OK. Overall, although we had a nice evening, none of us felt we would rush back.

Fantastic couple running this place. They have made such a great effort to really drive a thriving establishment and look after their customers and make a success of their business. We wish them all the deserved success and hope others enjoyed their stay as much as us. Plus they are very very doggie friendly. Even with big bouncy German wire hair pointers!

Unfortunately this was not a good stay for us. Rooms to hot, loads of noise from heating banging during early hours and banging of the doors in the pub down stairs ,some times so hard the room shook, meal first night took over 1 hour to get our starters due to agency cooks arguing we were told, meal when it finally come out again 1 hour later after starter was ok but over priced.Did not bother to eat in house again.

Brilliant pit stop on our bike ride, first since regulations relaxed, Will. Have to call in again, great food, lovely staff. 12 out of 10.
