Khonkaen Thai Cuisine in West Berkshire

Terrible take away delivery service was looking forward to the food, but order was cancelled 15 minutes before it was due to be delivered, I called the restaurant to be given the most vague excuse about it being cash on delivery and to contact just eat, I offered to collect the food but was told I couldn't.Very disappointed in the service as was looking forward to using this restaurant.

Absolutely incredible! One of the best Thai’s I have ever had. Felt like I was back in Thailand, the food was so authentic. The restaurant itself is beautiful with lovely staff and a gorgeous interior. Not to mention the prices. It is so affordable!🧡🧡🧡🧡

Without a doubt the best Thai food in Newbury and maybe even West Berkshire. Family run, with home cooked food. Staff are always attentive. Very good pricing structure.

We've already been twice since KhonKaen has been back open and the food was incredible. The service is always great too. Hands down this is the best Thai restaurant for miles.

After an extended break, the KhonKaen is back open and dare I say it better than it was?! Or perhaps I've just missed the wonderful and consistent quality of their authentic Thai cooking? Either way we are very pleased they are back open :)

Pretty decent Thai food, can’t go too wrong with this place. As an Aussie I understand what proper or authentic Thai food is like. The food here is nice, I had a red curry and although it’s wasn’t really “traditional”, it was pretty yummy. My friend ordered a massaman curry which was also good. The staff are nice, the interior is very cosy and pretty clean. Probably the best Thai restaurant in Newbury and the general locale (west Berkshire), I would revisit.

Service and decor was great but unfortunately the let down here is the food. Had the Pad Kee Mao noodles and while it did have the spicy kick both the flavour/sauce and noodle type was far from correct. Moral of the story - if you don't have the right ingredients don't put it on the menu.

Brilliant little restaurant. The decor is amazing, tricked me into thinking I was on holiday! Went there for my dad's birthday on a Sunday. Fabulous food, very authentic tasting - Not too greasy or oily.well rounded flavours. Service was Stella and surprising. They offered us free drinks at the end of the meal to help celebrate my dad's birthday. Very kind and welcoming.I would recommend this to anyone who isn't scared of foreign cuisine!

On the​ plus side, the menu is extensive, the staff are friendly and there is a nice atmosphere here. I would have given 4 stars but although friendly the service was slow and the food was tasty but not hot when it arrived. The staff had no idea what they were serving us so we had to guess whose dish was who's.
