Pret a Manger in West Berkshire

I love Pret. Great food, great atmosphere without being pretentious. I often bring my laptop here and bang out a few emails over coffee.[Update 13 Jan 2022]Used to spend a fair amount of time at this particular branch, but have definitely fallen out of love with it over the last year, as the staff (who used to be really friendly) walk around with faces like thunder and act like it's an inconvenience to serve me (in fairness, with the odd exception).I used to go there in the afternoon for a coffee and something sweet, but they have changed the opening hours and now close at 3pm Mon-Thurs so this is no longer an option. As a consequence I have now cancelled my coffee subscription.I will definitely still go to other branches, such as the one near my office, but I am sadly done with the Newbury shop.

It's chaos. No clear signage for trays/sugar/stirrers/serviettes - if they actually exist because I never found them. The filter coffee was bitter and horrible. The sandwiches low on meat content and the staff were surly. There was a cleaner who I will say was charming and sweet and very apologetic about the rubbish food/coffee/service. She is delightful Pret and you'd be well to hang onto her. Deeply disappointing 1st (and last) visit to a Pret. ps the one star is for the cleaner

One star as every time me and my partner have ordered for delivery, the order has been wrong or has items missing or wrong items in the order. It's really not that hard to get it right and I know as I work in a similar place, set someone to do quality checks before it gets sent out. All I'm gonna say is pret a manger. More like pret a mongole

Something's clearly gone a bit pear shaped here. The shop is unclean, toilets look like a wildebeest has been romping round, no one's clearing let alone cleaning tables especially outside. Service is slow, complete confusion making the coffee - no smiley service from anyone. I was here a couple of weeks back and there were some Polish girls front of house - they were friendly, quick and on top of the house services. The manager / franchisee taking a back seat I fear. Shame 'cos its good coffee and nice eats.

Always grab a coffee here. Service is fast and coffee is good! Some really lovely staff here, particularly at weekends. Always nice to get your coffee with a smile or a chat

A note to management: This isn't easy to eat and I'm sure you can imagine how soggy the brioche gets where it is thin at the bottom because of how it has been cut. A perfect example of design over function.

Great selection for all tastes fab coffee

First time to this branch. I love Pret and this is a nice one. There was lots of porridge left at 10am. The porridge is always totally delicious with honey. Soooo good. My friend had a veggie egg white omelette and really liked it. We take our own cups and filter coffee is just 49p. Brilliant! Recommended
