Slug & Lettuce newbury in West Berkshire

Haven't been in here for a few years. Chose it, to be blunt because it was over 35 degrees outside and I thought it would be cool inside - it was :)I've downgraded my ratting from 4 States mainly because, I drank Guinness and the pouring was appalling. Everything else was fine.Now, most people that come here won't care, but for me, it matters and it wasn't as if they were busy...And perhaps if they are employing people that don't know how to pour Guinness or training them, what else does that imply?

Friendly staff. Not horrible wait times. Reasonable prices. Mild inoffensive 90's house music at a loud, but not deafening level. Ticks the boxes associated of S&L.My only gripe is the lack of Negroni on the menu, my drinking habits can't be that extreme my drinks cabinets have more variety than a franchised bar.

Very lovely pub with delicious food and cocktails were so refreshing. Bonus also was that it was dog friendly so our dog enjoyed the relaxing atmosphere. Many thanks for a delightful day.

Alohka has been the greatest ray of sunshine I have ever experienced at a restaurant. Today has been filled with great vibes, great food and great drinks. Will be coming again and again and recommend to all of my friends

Lovely calm atmosphere over looking the canal. Friendly and helpful staff, service with a smile. Good quality meals with a very affordable price tag. My friend and myself enjoyed 2 for 1 cocktails that were delicious.highly recommend.

Popped in with friends on Saturday late afternoon.😊It's a nice place to be, especially if you're sat by the window overlooking the canal.👌Nice decor, nice staff...shame they don't so Bombay Sapphire gin though. Couldn't get a much more local gin than that! 😊Parking close by but it's not free. However, it's easy enough to get a taxi 🚕Overall, it's lovely and a nice big venue. Plenty of space for private parties too.

Food was nice and bar staff were friendly and served quickly.Had the burger which...wait for it....came with a birdcage over it!!😮...yep...a birdcage!! Go figure...but...the burger was top notch so fair play to them.Also think the prices are pretty reasonable..i eat out a lot and this place compares well.Hope this helps😎

I did pop in with a few friends for a night out, bar was pretty busy ! I've been served by a blonde grill (i don't know name) she was very friendly, all staff in general was nice. Generally it was outstanding atmosphere, I didn't knew slug had dj on the weekend's! The tunes were absolutely bangers 👌Down point was the waiting time and price, a bit expensive but definitely coming back for a drink and a 🕺 💃

Nicely located alongside the river, making a break away outside after making a few shapes on the dancefloor makes for a scenic view on the eye. Plenty of space for all types of groups large or small...and the service at the bar is pretty standard. Bit of an upgrade if you've spent the best part of the day in the Hatchit-Inn.

We had a great evening for my friends hen do, Nicole and the team were so accommodating and helpful which we really appreciated! It was the perfect venue for what we wanted and would definitely rebook in the future! Thank you!!
