Spotted Dog in West Berkshire

Came for lunch and had the burger which was very nice, side of garlic bread was unexpectedly good and then had a summer fruits crumble which was exceptional!The staff were friendly, the owner popped over for a quick chat and the service was also good.I'll definitely be going back.

Happy, friendly and helpful staff who were not intrusive . Good choice of reasonably priced dishes on the menu . Good atmosphere . Useful midway meeting point for our family all of whom enjoyed their meals, we will return !

Great tasting food, lovely staff and a nice place to go for a meal. Children welcome and staff interact with them. Parking, has a little play area and outside seating. Nice warm and friendly place with good food and will visit again.

Food was good, service was not.... 45 mins after clearing main course plates no one had asked if we wanted dessert. When they did, was way too late, no offer of coffee either. Then literally had to beg for someone to come and take payment....

My family held a wake here yesterday. I hadn’t been here before but I would come back again for a meal. The food they laid out was very well presented and extremely tasty. The bar staff were very polite and the land lord even got me a doggie bag to take some of the food home with me, much to the families delight but hey ho was prob gonna be thrown anyway! Cute dog behind the bars- behind the bar!

Our 2nd visit meeting up with friends at this convenient mid way point. Once again, the food was excellent and the staff are super friendly and professional. Special thanks to Paula who made a special trip to buy baked beans (and Heinz!) because I like beans rather than peas with my scampi!! Dog friendly and particularly toward dogs who like to lick ankles! Seriously....can't recommend this gastro pub highly enough. We will be going again soon - thank you to all the staff.

Friendly local boozer with a play area outside. Ordered kids lunch and arrived still half frozen, and roasts were overcooked. Lovely staff and nice place to stop off for a drink but not one to go for food.

Had a great meal here tonight with friends!! Lovely pub, with very friendly staff and great food. The portions are really big so we didn't have room for dessert but you get what you pay for. I would definitely come back again.

An excellent, hearty, classic Sunday lunch! Three roast meats accompanied by pigs in blankets, a giant Yorkie, crisp and fluffy roast potatoes, cabbage, creamed leeks, and bowls of steamed vegetables - all made me glad I hadn't snacked before arriving and only regretful that it was too dark for a walk after finishing.

The Sunday roast is fantastic! Great to have roast that’s not too dry! I love the cranberry sauce and cheese brocolli that came with the roast. So yummy! The service was very attentive and helpful. We sat outside and felt very comfy and safe during Covid times. We will definitely come back again!
