Lost a star due to new parking regulation. Even though it was busy, the service and food was good. However I and another couple who came in at the same time are now waiting for a £100 parking fine as we didn't register the car. No serving staff warned me. No notice on table's. No notice at bar.

Had a cracking meal in here with great service. Will be back in when we're in the area.

We had a decent meal at a sensible price. We were looked after by Tito. He was very busy but was efficient, helpful and friendly. We thoroughly recommend the restaurant. and will return when in the area.

Absolutely lovely here. Great staff and the food is excellent. Steak and ale pie was out of this world. Huge outside space as well. New favourite Local ✔

Food was quality and the location pleasant. The 2 star review however comes down to a predatory parking policy requiring you to inform staff of your vehicle's registration upon arrival. However the signage for this is incredibly poor, and was not noticed at all on our visit, and staff failed to mention anything about it also. Now facing a £100 parking charge I am less than enthused about the visit.Edit: The parking charge has since been nullified after speaking to staff over the phone. The stars of the review have been increased to 4, based upon the food and location. However I am leaving the original text of the review as a warning to other patrons.

Stopped here for lunch on a very long trip and I wasn’t disappointed. Lovely room and great service to match. Beautiful surroundings and free customer parking inside their car park. Definitely would recommend this place.

The Bear hotel is a perfect meeting point with my friend. Food at Greene King pubs is always good quality with a varied menu. Blue Light card is accepted which gives 20% off. Parking now needs to be logged onto board located beside reception desk otherwise you will recieve a fine in the post. Each time we have visited here the staff have been friendly and today was no exception. The venue promotes a lovely relaxed atmosphere with seating indoors and out.The venue is also a hotel.

Check in was showing from 1400 however our room was not ready for hours after this. Normally this would not have been a problem, however we were eager to get into the room and have a shower. Therefore we ended up wasting time just waiting. We understand that they were short staffed and this couldn't be helped however it was disappointing and frustrating.Very minor points, we do not think the shower extractor was working, the bathroom mirror took along time to demist and the hairdryer wasn't working, although we found another within the room.Having booked, I made contact with the hotel to enquire about some things. The response was very quick and helpful. Upon arrival the same lady was on reception. She was apologetic about the delay in our room being ready. She also choose not to move us to another room, as she felt the room allocated to us was better. She was certainly right.... the room named 'Anne of Cleves' was lovely and spacious with plenty of plug sockets & USB points. Yes it was above the main restaurant however the noise was not too bad.Lovely food.Great location within Hungerford too.

We enjoyed a wonderful weekend here, very relaxing and refreshing. Food was excellent and staff friendly. The room was lovely, with a stream running outside. Arthur and Beth stood out for us, and were extremely attentive. We can't wait to come back in September. Thank you

Really disappointed with this place, breakfast was not cheap and certainly not freshly cooked. Bacon was oven cooked and cold and over done, mushrooms where stone cold. They was not busy and took long time for the food to come out. Staff was friendly but please get your staff to take there long sleeve jumpers off as I don't appreciate there sleeve on my toast.
