The Bull at Streatley in West Berkshire

A disappointment really. The front of house staff were friendly enough and the venue is in a lovely little village.However, you really let yourselves down with your food offering.I ordered an ultimate burger, and have to say that it was anything but ultimate. The 3 burgers it came with were burnt and hard, and were sandwiched between cheap processed cheese. There was nothing ultimate about it, it was a huge disappointment.There were a handful (10-15) chips with it. The chips were nice but there wasn’t nearly enough of them. On top of the really poor quality food, it took an eternity to come, over half an hour. I was really surprised given that our table was pretty much the only one that had ordered food.

Nice to see the pub open again - food was hot and tasty. Service with a smile. Only slight complaint - I had the battered fish and chips - the portion of peas was extremely small - there was more tartar sauce then peas

I’d booked a table for 9 people, we arrived and stood for a good 5-10 minutes before being seated. The guy apologised as he was on his own. We sat without menus until we asked for them. Service was slow and our food came out separately. We had finished by the time the last meal arrived. We had to ask for the pudding menu as nobody came. The food was good though.

I was travelling through and decided to stop here for some dinner and a pint. What a great little cosy pub, most importantly with a dart board! Which is rare these days.Food was top notch and very reasonably priced as were the drinks. Staff were friendly and we received a warm greeting as soon as we step foot in the door. If I'm ever in the area again I shall definitely return!

Lovely pub with plenty of space inside & out and a cosy log fire burning. The staff were really friendly and helpful when we asked for directions & information.The cider really needs to come with a warning though! 🤪

Booked a table for 18:30 for my husband's birthday. Received a friendly welcome and invited to choose where to sit. Drink orders taken whilst we looked at the menu. Waitress returned and took our food order. Starters arrived in good time, nachos to share. Very nice. Waitress returned to check everything was ok and again when we had finished, clearing the plate away. After a suitable time, our mains arrived, hunters chicken for myself and a large ultimate cheese burger for my husbandBoth meals were delicious. Another person came to check everything was ok during our meal. When we had finished we were asked if we wanted any desserts, but we were both too full to eat anything else!A really lovely quiet birthday meal.

Had a great night tonight whilst visiting family in the area , staff couldn't be more helpful and the manager. Sorry forgot his name was very welcoming and looked after us all night!Food was delicious and with 30% off boom 💥Will definitely pop in next time we are back

Absolutely brilliant. Staff were amazing, as was the food. We had a table of 16, which isn't easy to look after, but they did a brilliant job. All will go back again. Thank you.

The pub was a welcome sight after a long day on the Ridgeway walk. Food was nice cooked quickly and served with a smile good selection of ales and the price was right. Good size car park at the back which make changing my boots easy.

Great place for food and drinks and it is cheaper priced than the other pubs in this village, handy if you are staying at the YHA it has sky sports and a beer garden at the back. Food was very tasty and they do vegan
