The Catherine Wheel in West Berkshire

Our daughter is vegan and we were passing Newbury so thought have a quick Internet search for food. This place grabbed our attention.I didn't really think I'd like pie and mash however the pie with blue cheese was amazing. The vegan food was "very nice" The loved the food the music the welcome and the town. We will be back.

Great pub. They have cleaned up the look and feel since i was there many years ago. Warm feeling and friendly staff. Did not get a chance to enjoy the Gin garden as it was late. Will definitely go back.

This is a great pub, helpful staff and very good selection of well kept ale (5 on the day we last visited). The food is limited to mostly pies, but these are good quality with nice tasty fillings (including veggie and vegan options). All round great for a quick or slow spot of lunch...

Pie and a pint with a mate. Good amount of seating. Open fire 🔥. Wide selection of beers. Large and varied pie selection went for curried Paneer and spinach, not usual choice, and wasn't disappointed...

Yesterday I sadly had to cancel my Works Christmas Do at the Catherine Wheel due to the increase in COVID cases nationally. They were amazing and accepted the last minute cancellation with a smile and Christmas wishes. We will be back there as soon as possible to finish what we started but I just wanted to acknowledge their wonderful Customer Service. I have visited the Catherine Wheel before and love the atmosphere and their great food and drink. It is well worth a visit.

Nuce n cozy place for some great pies and beer. Good variety of beers on tap.
