An unusually quiet pub, will reasonable service and decent food.We visited for Sunday lunch, which we recorded to be busy but there were just two other proper Inn the pub. That was a touch worrying. The beer was fine and the service good. The books beginner the bar didn't seem to want to speak to anyone but the barmaid was great. The Sunday lunches were good for the money. Not sure I would return, but it was ok.

Service is great but food was disappointing. Ordered a camembert sharer off of specials menu. The first one came out as a rubber mass, not gooey. Couldn't dip bread in at all. The second was exactly the same. After that we asked to just have mains. My partner ordered mixed grill from the specials and it came with 4 different pork products (sausage which was frozen cheap ones, gammon which was not bad, and pork chop with was basically another gammon steak and black pudding) and steak. We expected some meat from the rest of the menu such as ribs or grilled chicken. The onion rings were dripping in fat and the mushroom were too.I had the chicken farmer burger. It was nice enough but nothing special. From previous reviews I expected a lot better food.

Great atmosphere with a friendly team of staff, can't fault the portion sizes as they are absolutely huge and filling! Reasonable prices, great place.

We loved this place! We were looking for somewhere to stop on the way back home from an events and were attracted to it as it was in 'Worlds end' however it turned out to be amazing! The Staff were friendly and helpful and their BBQ was delicious and big portions. They also do great Milkshakes and Floats. We enjoyed our meal very much and will recommend it to others.

Fantastic food and such a friendly welcome. I was so pleased to come across this little gem on our want back to Wales from Brighton. A huge thumbs up and thank you especially as we could take our little dog in with us. Thank you for the wonderful food and the charming hospitality xx

Typical british pub but with an american twist for food choices. Dishes are delicious with gigantic portions. The cheesecake and milkshake were heavenly.

Been here few times myself but had a gathering for my lads first birthday last week , without asking the staff put up balloons, banners and sweets on the table which I thought was a lovely touch. As always the food and service was second to none and I can guarantee no one went home hungry with the mammoth sized portions. Highly recommended

Good food here. This is very much open for business and really very good. Nice garden for sunshine drinks and a good atmosphere. Great for the kids. Easy free parking too. Very good village pub and easy stop off from the A34 north or south. Good farm walk too if you want to let the kids and dog stretch their legs.
