"The Craven is a family run traditional cosy country pub offering delicious home cooked food using local suppliers. With a huge outdoor garden including children's outdoor play area. We have a large outdoor tipi which can host weddings, corporate and family parties. Sunday Roasts are served 12 noon until 5.30pm every Sunday alongside our full menu. We are open daily for lunch and dinner from Monday to Thursday and serve food all day Friday and Saturday. Offering Wadworth ales, a selection of ciders and lagers as well as a large gin offering. A warm welcome always awaits! We are only 5 miles from Newbury racecourse and have a large car park at the rear."

Lovely food, brilliant garden for kids and adults alike. The climbing frame and swings are fab. Service was superb too. We will definitely be back soon

·

Very lovely staff, very welcoming and friendly. The food was like old style pub food but new gastro pub prices. Bit disappointing.

Having known this pub since the early sixties and having literally hundreds, if not thousands, of wonderful memories of happy times spent there, it was very much the top choice for when I met up with an old schoolfriend once again for lunch today. It did not disappoint. Indeed it excelled in every respect. Great food and beer and exceptionally good and welcoming service. We will surely continue to frequent it for our mini-reunions again and again. Thank you to the great team there who gave us such a wonderful experience. Could not recommend it more highly.

·

Booked for x16 for a birthday lunch, we often go here as it's so good for the kids to play whilst the adults can chat. As we were a large group, I was asked to pre-order, I must confess to being very, stroppy, would be the best word for my reaction to this request as I reeeeally didn't want to rally x16 people to order in advance but I will say that Clive was extra polite and explained why and I have to say it worked very well, the food came at the requested time, all together and it is always a consistently good standard, the food portions are huge I would say and most importantly delicious! The waitress in the Tipi was exceptional, she managed to organise the bill and the deposit so we all paid in our separate families and it was all communicated to the other staff when she went off shift / on a break. All in all a wonderful day so thank you very much Clive and team and we will be back no doubt.

Good honest pub fare. Very friendly staff and good value. Enjoyable Sunday lunch last week.

·

Surprisingly unfortunate lunch, considering I've heard so many good things I expected more. Overcooked, unseasoned, will have to revisit.

·

Great pub, really friendly and professional welcome, lovely prompt service , and the food was brilliant.
