The Elephant at the Market in West Berkshire

Love dining here for Sunday lunch. The roasts are great and was happy to bring family and show it off! The young staff are so friendly too. The only downside was they didn't manage the 2-hours at the table so we were waiting for people to leave to access ours.

We stayed for a few nights and the room was amazing! Very friendly atmosphere, amazing food and the staff were very helpful. We really enjoyed our stay. Will definitely stay again and recommend it to friends and family.

Good location, amazing food, great Sunday roast and fire oven pizza! Hannah gave us incredibly service thank you so much we had a great evening!!!!!

Been into the elephant a few times over the last few months and we are never disappointed. The food is always fantastic and the staff are very friendly and helpful. Will be planning another visit soon! Looking forward to enjoying drinking in the garden as the weather gets nicer.

While the servers were great we had to sent out chicken starters back as they were uncooked!, I ordered a medium rare fillet steak which was cooked very rare! The server took both starters and the steak meal off of the bill. Still waiting to see if we come down with food poisoning.

The staff were all very welcoming on a very busy evening. Unfortunately they had run out of the vegetarian main course, making it difficult to find an alternative. Limited choice for vegetarian on the menu. Service was quick

The atmosphere was relaxed, the food was great. The furnishings were great and you felt like you were in the middle of nowhere rather than in the centre of Newbury town. Every member of staff who served us the food were great, helpful and friendly. I would recommend to anyone, solo, a couple or a group of friends. Will be returning in the future. Thank you.

Stayed at the hotel recently and I was disappointed, when booking online for a twin room you see this lovely bathroom with a large shower, we didn’t get this. In my view you simply can’t advertise something which the end consumer won’t get.The room wasn’t cleaned greatly with cobwebs and such.Another problem with the bathroom is the taps which are to far back meaning your touching the back of the basin while you try and wash your hands.Overall my main disappointment is based in not getting what’s shown and advertised online as I probably would have picked a different establishment off the bat.

Service was slow, we waited more than 15 mins to be asked if we wanted a drink until i got up and went to the bar. Asked 3 times for water we didn't get. Food took forever. In all fairness the food was good.
