Excellent. Nice beer and great food. Service was quick enough too. Google maps is about 1/2 mile adrift though!

Outstanding - My colleague and I were welcomed in to this establishment after a long weeks work. We were shown in to our very comfortable rooms with everything some one wanting to relax should expect: memory foam mattress, ample towels, descent pressure in the shower. I was even called in advance to see if we would like to book our evening meal. We enjoyed a delicious feast delivered to our rooms very promptly. The sort of meal one would expect served at home rather than produced fast for many; crunchy greens, delicious gravy, a combination of meats cooked to the T and a lovely Yorkshire pudding to top it off. I'm in ore with the management and the way this place is so well conducted, I wish i could do the same with my business! Complete success

Lovely country style ambience. Friendly staff and excellent food. Chicken supreme was soft and tasty. Also can recommend the venison stew.

Thursday Mar 3rd , advertised as a SPECIAL steak night. Why it was claimed as SPECIAL beggers belief. Our plates were returned almost as they were delivered to our table. The steak was inedible. The staff were very polite and apologetic, and a refund was given. Total disappointment:

We arrived late but had texted our order to friends waiting for us. First courses arrived as we sat and drinks too! Excellent fast service of delicious Sunday lunch and good coffee. Sea bass and the veggie roast were particularly good.

Lovely old pub and we couldn't wait to return as fond memories of a perfect lunch 2 yrs ago but sadly after visiting the snowdrops at Welford Park 60miles from our home, we had a very disappointing lunch both in terms of food and service. We booked a table in advance but the pub was full and 3 staff seemed completely overwhelmed. My mum age 90 ate scampi and fries alone and our meals arrived 20 minutes later. The food was sadly average so for us 3 stars - we did appreciate the offer of a complimentary drink but to be honest it didn't make up for the fact that the miscommunication and disjointed service meant we didn't all eat or enjoy the food together. Short staffed could well be the issue?

Gorgeous tasteful food, beautifully presented, friendly attentive staff, Reasonable prices, warm & cosy. Loved the experience as it was on our way back home and it was late lunch near 3pm before they close their kitchen. Absolutely πŸ’― recommend it.

The place is a lot smaller than it looks from outside but well worth the visit, having said that, there is a lot of space available outside for visits in the spring and summer months. Sunday Roast was lovely and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Will definately visit again.

Nice country pub with good parking and garden. Wide selection of beers and ciders. Reasonable priced mains which are huge and good quality which counteracted 3 calamari rings starter. I had the steak and ale suet pudding, very well stuffed with meat, onion and gravy. My friend had a good burger and chips. Good place to go for a country walk before or after your meal.
