The George in West Berkshire

Great country pub with superb ale, excellent food, friendly staff and comfortable surroundings. We had a mixture of mains from battered cod, venison and liver - all of which were superb. Accessibility is ok, once you have got passed the first step which is only small. Thoroughly recommend.

The food was great but one of the beer’s not as good as last time.

Wonderful experience for a Sunday lunch today. Top marks for the service, couldn't be more helpful and friendly, great place to take the in-laws whilst downing some quality beer. Really impressed the in-laws has left me in the good books 👍 many thanks, will be back!

Dropped in today for a drink and lunch on a long bike ride. Could not have hoped for a better experience. Staff were amazing, so friendly and accommodating, even letting us hide our bikes so we could dine inside. Food and service was fantastic, so we will head back as soon as possible for more of the same! It's the service that makes a difference and the team here are next level. Thanks for a great lunch!

Sunday lunch 6th MarchWaited 50 minutes for roast (no chicken left)Beef quite fatty.and excess of red cabbage.Cheeseboard sadly lacking- 3 small pieces of brie only - hardly a "selection of cheeses" although this item was removed from the bill.Not overly impressed tbh.

Great beer, and pretty good food in a real fire/craft ale kind of atmosphere. Some of the team serving were clearly new so a few things got briefly forgotten but hopefully those kinds of things will get ironed out quickly. More expensive than I was expecting

Lovely country pub with a good selection of craft ales that are well kept. 5 points best bitter is a highlight. Sunday roast smelled delicious. Could not stay unfortunately

Really good food, excellent staff, attentive but not overly so. Left to chat after our meal and not made to feel we had to leave. Definitely returning

Awesome pub this... Great garden, cosy old pub indoors with fire for the winter. Great beer available and a super menu ... Really friendly staff.

Always lovely service, super friendly to kids and babies and most of all - delicious food! Can't wait to get back for another yummy, cozy meal by your fireplace. Especially those ribs... mmmouthwatering 😋
