We wasn't staying, just popped in for a bite. Food was excellent and wine list impressive. Normally only find that calibre of food and service in top London restaurants. It's not cheep but you get what you pay for. Definitely worth trying for a special occasion.

We had lunch on Saturday - a party of 4, 2 with mobility issues. Good food. The burger could have been hotter. We chose not to make a fuss. Service was ever so slightly abrupt rather than friendly. Disabled access is dreadful. And it’s virtually impossible to use the disabled toilet unaccompanied as you have to negotiate 2 doors and an incline.

bedrooms just the right size for us & beds very comfortable. Staff very accommodating going above & beyond to make sure our stay was to the highest standard. Very professional & welcoming. Would definitely use again when visiting the surrounding area.

We met with friends for supper on Monday night, the pub was welcoming and had a happy atmosphere. We had to wait a little while for our orders but the staff were polite and friendly. The food was delicious.

The room was very well appointed and comfortable, high quality bedding and products. The Staff were professional and extremely welcoming. Food was delicious and the wine list was extensive.

Very friendly welcome and attentive, professional service. Food was great with some surprising twists in the menu (the Caesar Salad Bon Bon for example). I understand a new team there, and unfortunately we had to wait for our pudding for quite a while, however the waiter ensured we had this taken off the final bill. Recommend The Pheasant to you all.

SUMMARY: Food is overpriced, only just mediocre, Service is friendly, but not very attentive.I ordered a £26 Rib Eye, which when arrived was actually the smaller (more expensive) fillet. I originally didn't notice when it was delivered it was hidden under a mound of mushrooms. Strange as the "meat" would normally be the important bit on the plate. When I found the steak, and realized it was wrong, I sent it back. The food was sent back after 2-3 minutes, with the fillet removed, and a steak plonked down on top of the mushrooms again with no care or attention. It was the same plate of food, but the meat exchanged with one which I believe had already been cooked waiting.Moments later, after the waitress had gone, I also realized that the Peppercorn sauce was missing, but it took a further 10 minutes to get someone's attention to request it. The steak wasn't piping hot when it originally arrived, and after waiting for the luke warm peppercorn sauce, it certainly wasn't warm by the time I ate it. And the steak was actually more medium than rare.My daughters had a risotto each, which they thoroughly enjoyed and tasted great - so they had a nice time.I realize that Saturday nights are busy, but it seemed far too many customers to 2/3 servers. And the presentation and eye for detail was really bad - and no follow up checks of "how is your meal" or "would you like another drink".I would have complained but took a further 10 minutes and two requests to get someone to bring me my bill - and then another 10 minutes to ask for the payment machine, and I didn't want to embarrass my daughters by complaining.

Came in for Sunday dinner, the food quality was amazing but unfortunately the service was shocking. Slow staff, 3-4 things forgotten off our order one of which I had to ask for again TWICE. I specifically asked if my roast came with cauliflower cheese I was told yes then was told afterwards it’s an extra once the food arrived. The actual food we did manage to receive was very nice though .

Food and table service was excellent as usual. Starters took a long to arrive, then main course arrived not long after these were finished. My partners starter arrived with a key component missing. Not one to make a fuss she did mention this when the plates were collected. Full credit to the management though. As both starters were not charged for. A welcome unexpected gift.

We recently met family at The Pheasant for an evening meal - it’s a nice ’half way house’ between Southampton and Northampton - and enjoyed 3 courses! We took our little Yorkshire Terrier who was quite happy snoozing, the staff were friendly and happy and the place had a nice relaxed buzz.Recommend 😀
