This is my nearest local and while we drink here quite often we haven't had a special meal at the PK in a while. So what's it like? Great rural location with a nice garden. Inside, there's a lovely ambience in the bar and the restaurant with well laid tables, nice flowers and space; its not over crowded. The staff are warm and friendly and the menu is sensibly varied with vegetarian, fish and meat options as well as a range sweets cheeses etc. I went for meat and my wife chose the vegetarian Pithivier pie, which I have to say is very good. We'll definitely be eating here again.

Unique and marvellous! Fantastic food and ambience in an unrivalled rural location. A wonderful, rustic patio on which to enjoy a sunny afternoon or evening with a first class pint or decent vino. An upmarket dining experience at a sensible price for the quality delivered. Now with the opportunity to stay overnight, too... which we hope to do soon.

Honestly one of the best pubs I have ever done. The food was great, it is not like a fancy Michelin Star type restaurant, it is proper pub food well made yet refined. It is obviously a bit more expensive than a typical pub, but it is worth it, you know you eat good quality ingredients, respected and well prepared .I have to go back, and the area is beautiful too.

Thank you for a wonderful meal today. Hugely impressed by the knowledge and professionalism of the lovely lady who looked after us. We were the table of six with the two young boys. Delicious food. Thank you so much!

Lovely setting, good beer and chips, friendly staff and plenty of outdoor seating. Dog friendly. What more could you want? Not had a full mea there's as yet, so that's next in the list.

Great beer and tasty food. Small and pricey portions. Lovely spot, just a shame the prices are so high. 2 Beers and a sandwich £27

Fabulous, unusual and gorgeous West Berkshire pub. Bring your dogs, but do book if you want to eat.

As great as ever. Fascinating, tempting, wholesome, game driven menu with Sunday roast sharing boards. Big portions. Top notch chef - no messing about. Proper sweetie dessert and ice cream. Interesting and lovely but not intimidating or pretentious wine list. Nice big tables.

One of my favourite pubs anywhere. Muddy boots and dogs are welcome in the bar, delicious light bar food and lovely atmosphere. There's a proper restaurant if you want a smarter meal.
