Enquired about hosting a function here, all my details were taken down over the phone and I was informed I would get a telephone call back about availability and costs. It’s has been over a month now and have not heard anything back from the venue. Disappointed

We were very much looking forward to hosting my husbands birthday party here. We had a visit. Reserved the date. Waiting to pay the deposit. This was delayed due to waiting on full quote. We were happy for a delay in the quote due to the busy Christmas period. Lots of conversations back and forth getting excited about the amazing things on offer. About to finalise everything. We then received a grovelling email to say they had given away our date to a bride who had a tantrum because she wanted the date as her wedding had been cancelled twice due to Covid. I don’t mean to be mean to the bride. I really sympathise. However that does not mean you can demand someone else’s date. Nor does it mean the company should cancel another booking and blame covid regulations which isn’t exactly the case when they had a prior booking. Times are hard. Stress levels are high but it’s incredibly unprofessional and immoral to treat customers this way. We are going elsewhere where we can trust that this wouldn’t happen again.

Management team are rude, unprofessional, and made snarky comments about guests as they walked past. The food was absolutely disgusting, it was unappealing to look at and did not taste fresh. A few guests even commented that ‘airline food is more appetising than this’. They prioritise profit over customer satisfaction, which is why I will never come here in the future!

A perfect Christmas party. The evening whizzed by. Food was just right. Staff were friendly especially the entertainers who took time to join us at our table and chat. Lost a star because the dodgems closed at 11 before most of my party had had a chance to have a go.

As a location / venue it is great and the lady on site showed us the grounds very kindly, however the events team are not very reliable behind a screen. Emails are responded to irregularly, and with little urgency or care. I wouldn't personally choose this venue to deal with an event such as a wedding due to this lacking in service.

Great night out at the Christmas Dinner. Very well organised all staff were efficient, friendly and did a great job. Would definitely recommend.

NOT RECOMMENDED. Attended a wedding there. Nice venue. Bit dated but it’s ok. However I would never want to attend another event there. Management are terrible. Not only did they change the rules on the spot so that music couldn’t be played properly which meant no dancing but they were also very rude. Venue owner was just interested in ensuring he received his money after that no care given. The manager a blond older lady who told us her name was Rachel (not sure if this is correct) was even more rude. Asked for a glass of tap water and she said it’s not her problem or duty to supply as the caterers had packed up and gone. Basic human compassion was not there at all. Rude. Not hospitable. In utter disbelief

Beautiful wedding venue, stunning views, rooms and gardens for photos. Very well organised, staff are lovely and helpful, continental breakfast was delicious.

By far the worst experience I've ever had. Spent £200 on food and drink! Wine was warm had to ask for ice cubes, beer was warm and the starter for 2 people was on one plate hardly a platter and the wedges were mcaine for sure and all tasted bland no flavour. Took management a week to reply to our complaint! The area was freezing we had to ask to put the heater on but when they did it didn't work properly. No glitter or glamour to mention in the tent not what Trunkwell used to be about. Really gone downhill and i feel we were totally robbed of our money :( We didn't complain at the time as didn't want to cause a scene big mistake as only got offered £20 and another starter why would we come back for a starter ridiculous! We asked for halve our money back considering how my wife's birthday meal was ruined never again!!!!!!

Had a wonderful meal this evening with my at The Dining Room at Trunkwell House. A small and intermate restaurant with a quiet and peaceful setting. We aren't the 'starter' type of people no matter where we go so we skipped those and went straight in for the mains.I had the steak as did my wife. Both were cooked absolutely perfectly to our liking. Although we aren't the 'starter' type of people we are certainly the dessert type of people! I went for the sticky toffee pudding and my wife the chocolate orange gateaux. These were absolutely divine! The staff were fabulous and even though it was their opening weekend they were on point with their service. I sincerely hope they keep this going. I highly recommend.
