I went with my granddaughter to see the musical adaptation of Graham Greene's Our Man in Havana at the Watermill Theatre in Newbury. It was the opening night. We had a two course meal beforehand. It was freshly cooked and quite delicious. Afterwards we walked in the beautiful gardens beside a small river.Taking out seats in the gallery, we climbed a winding staircase. The small Theatre of around 200 seats was full. The performance was lively and quite fun with singing and dancing. The Musical Director Antonio was on stage throughout the whole play, which was no mean feat! Apart from playing the piano and turning his own music sheets, he also sang as well as directed. The other performers were equally enthusiastic and dedicated to their roles. It was a lovely evening out in the countryside and I recommend The Watermill Theatre as a place to frequent.

Lovely theatre and great pre show dinner. The seats are a little tight. We saw Spike which was highly entertaining. We were is Row M and could not see the actors on the balcony as the lights were on the way.

Great atmospheric small theatre. Some fantastic productions. The setting comes into its own during the summer. Interval drinks in the garden. Just don't expect plush seats.

One of my favourite theatres. Small but cosy.

Beautiful surroundings and very good lunch served in restaurant. Jungle Book production very good, however did not sing famous JB songs. Presumably because Disney or whoever own the copyright to these.

We visited this evening to watch Brief Encounter, which was excellent! A small and hugely talented group of actors (who were also great singers and musicians) performed a really entertaining, atmospheric and engaging adaptation of the story. I cannot recommend it highly enough, be sure to catch it if you can.We had a very nice meal in the restaurant before the show. The staff were friendly and efficient and it was a relaxed atmosphere that set up the evening perfectly. Thanks to everyone involved!

The Watermill Theatre is quite possibly the nicest theatre I've every visited. The venue is relatively tiny, seating around 200 people. It's full of character and perfect for watching a small production. There is a restaurant and bar which is perfect for the number of guests. I'd imagine it would be a great place to visit in the summer.

Lovely quaint old theatre inside a real old mill. We watched Brief Encounter which was superbly acted & sung by a talented cast. We also had a nice pre-show meal in the attached “barn”. Convenient for the show even if there is better quality food to be found locally

Beautiful quaint theatre with wooden construction and stunning spiral staircase set in idyllic grounds alongside river with a lovely bar and one storey buildings. The theatre has different productions and professional cast. Excellent visit
