Arzoo in West Oxfordshire

Visiting my parents this weekend so we ordered a takeaway for 8 of us. (despite ordering on a previous occasion and the rice not being delivered). This time they did not deliver one of the meals ordered (a biryani). When I rang I was told I had not ordered that dish, despite reading the items from a piece of paper. After some back and forth with the restaurant during which they were insisting I lied about the biryani they agreed to send another. Whilst waiting for the food to arrive we also found a large piece of clay from the clay oven embedded in the nan bread. Luckily we spotted it before it broke some teeth or caused somebody to choke.After we eventually received all our food (and a complimentary £2.99 bottle of white wine from aldi) we added up the total from the menu. It came to £80.50 including the biryani which is what I paid. Perhaps instead of calling their customers a liar this restaurant could spend more time not serving clay to their customers and ensuring they deliver what is ordered.

Even one star is not worth. Worst place in the U.K. .. firstly the menu had a million items to order from . Due to some confusion about the menu we asked the waiter for suggestions about the menu items and the waiter started showing attitude and asked us to go eat somewhere else . Obviously we went to another lovely place but such a pathetic attitude for what ? … we were sincerely confused about the menu and took a little longer to order and Experienced a pathetic behaviour from U.K’s most pathetic place ….. the city deserves a better placeGood we went to another place else the waiter might have spit in our food … never ever .. come close within 100 meters to this place

We ordered two Madras curries. One was okay, the other one was insanely(!) hot. Very disappointed by the fact that almost all the veg in the vegetable madras was appeared to be from a standard bag of frozen peas, carrots and sweetcorn. I expect fresh vegetables from a restaurant.

The best Indian food around. Never had a bad meal or take away and great service.

Usually have our takeaways from here and really enjoy them. However the past two occasions our deliveries have been over half an hour late being delivered, this evening it was an hour late being delivered. The food quality on this occasion was poor too. Will not be using this restaurant again.

Arzoo in general is fab... delicious food and we often sit in, so usually great service.Mid week, this week 27th Oct was not quite the same... still good but food was under par and service was incredibly slow for just 3 tables.I asked for mild on my usual tasty dish but instead of reducing the heat as they usually do, they added really sickly sweet ingredient to sweeten it up... in short it was not the same savoury, tasty, depth of flavour... the sweet killed it off and the heat still there. The naan was not hot and fluffy but flat, seemed under cooked (unrisen) and heavy. The bombay potatoes were tainted and unusually oily (they usually melt in the mouth and are stunningly delicious). Such a shame as we always thoroughly enjoy our food here... which usually is delicious, tantalises the taste buds with depth of flavour without heat, but not this time.Our guest was none the wiser, but we both agreed not up to usual standards... fingers crossed standards return and it improves next time.

Arrived at Arzoo at around 7pm without booking, was able to seat the four of us. Fast service, with drink orders, and providing poppadoms and sauces which were very tasty. Food was cooked well and came out in good time. Would eat here again and would recommend.

Mixed review on this restaurant. My husband had a lovely meal having the Bangladesh hotpot which he really enjoyed. For me going to a restaurant I don't expect to receive frozen veg the carrots would have bounced if I had attempted to bounce them certainly couldn't get my knife to cut them. This used to have such high standards. We knew it had been through a rough time but thought we would give it another go again. Shame shan't be going back.

Requested delivery at 8.15 as friends were arriving at 8... The food arrived at 7.40! Asked for apology but got nothing. Zero respect for customer service. Won't use again - more reliable curry houses in Bicester
