Always a pleasure yo eat out at The Chef Imperial.

Unfortunately at the end of what we thought was a lovely meal we saw the front of house staff take an unfinished bowl of prawn crackers off a nearby table, take the top layer off and return them to a new table, not acceptable in any circumstances.

Very nice food, we really enjoyed it. The ambient was perfect. Food was tasty, the waitress was very friendly and the price of the food also a bonus. The toilet was clean.

Gave the impression of a more traditional chinese restaurant. Quite plain inside but good classic dishes, tasty food and pleasant service. Major disappointment was the unavailability of Tsingtao chinese beer; had to make do with Tiger. But we really enjoyed the grilled pork dumplings and deep fried squid with chilli for starters. The sizzling beef with black pepper was excellent, very tender and a rich sauce. Less impressed with the Tao pan sizzling scallops. Delicious sauce but rather too many onions. Fluffy and light egg fried rice and tasty fried noodles. Enjoyable meal. Service was quick. Readonable prices. Extensive menu, probably all your usual suspects with a few Thai options added.

Stumbled upon this place whilst looking for somewhere to eat, food was excellent, plenty of it and good value for money.

Worst Chinese restaurant I have ever been to.Can’t be bothered staff, almost no customers, a waiter /owner who turned the music off when I was the only customer left. Hello! I’m still here! Asked me what I wanted from across the room!! And tried to hurry me to pay. When I said I wouldn’t pay the service charge because of these things, he raised his voice with me, got annoyed, said I was the only one who had complained in 5 years. He’s obviously not read his reviews here.He also told me ‘I always come in late’. Fascinating given this is my first time in Woodstock. If you’re happy to seat someone at (wait for it, shock horror) 9.50pm, then treat them as if they had arrived at 6.50pm, rather than as a late nuisance.Such mediocre food. A joke. I knew it would be too, from the tired appearance and lack of customers and woman who greeted me. NB, get to Woodstock before 9pm, so you don’t have to resort to this place!! Everywhere else seems to stop serving quite early.Avoid.
