5 stars all round for me. Stayed 1 night and played 2 rounds of golf. Kumar and his team did excellent food and service for evening meal. The golf course was very challenging with the weather we had but very enjoyable with different types of holes And the room i had overlooked practice putting green very spacious and very clean

Beautiful Hotel & Spa which includes an 18 hole parkland Golf Course giving stunning views of the picturesque Cotswolds Countryside, Hotel bedrooms are offered to a high class standard and particular attention has been paid to a welcoming buffet breakfast; the most important meal of the day, staff are pleasant and friendly and there is plenty of free parking spaces even for the larger vehicle.#Jet Connect Portsmouth

Baffled by how this is a four star establishment. The first room we checked into was on the bottom floor of the blocks, which all smell strongly of urine. The room was closer to a university dorm than a hotel room, very few amenities, strong smell of damp and mould that made my eyes burn and absolutely zero privacy. The enormous patio doors and tacky artificial "privacy hedges" allows every other guest to have a beautifully framed view directly into your room at all times, a simple issue that could be resolved in any room with net curtains. The staff reluctantly moved us from our mouldy room into a new one on the other side of the complex that had even less privacy from the eyes of other guests who were mostly rowdy and drunken, 60 year old golf enthusiasts. The new room smelt like a urinal cake, was full of beetles and was incredibly dated. The double bed was comprised of two rock hard, single mattresses thrown together which was ridiculously uncomfortable. There was no AC and very little ventilation for the bathroom making our stay during the hottest day of the year hellish. On that note, upon asking for glasses and some ice for our room we were presented with extremely small glasses with a generous 3 ice cubes per person to help beat the heat. It's clear that this place must have been an assisted living complex at some point, that or a very low security prison. It's far from 4 star, unwelcoming, unclean and dated. For the same price we could have stayed in a Premier Inn and not felt like we're staying in a shady hostel in Ibiza.I also can't wait to receive a snarky response from whoever runs the social media accounts, as it seems to be a running theme that any review less than 4 stars here is not welcome with any care or consideration but a woefully poor attempt at a witty riposte.

If you are a group of golfers, DO NOT book this hotel. The course was in great condition, can't fault it in that regard, but I have never in all my time playing the sport played on a busier course. It is obvious what's happened here, the hotel has around 100 rooms which is about double the size of the Oxfordshire golf and hotel spa where we have stayed previously and enjoyed and you can tell they are simply allowing too many people on the course. At one point on the par 3, 8th hole there were FOUR groups waiting to tee off.It honestly got to the point where we were regularly having balls nearly hitting us on the head on every hole.It actually became a dangerous environment. We were so disappointed we walked off on the 9th hole as it took 3 hours, so we were looking at a minimum of a 6 hour round and it's only 6000 yards.A few of the words used to describe the situation by other groups around us was 'scandalous', 'unacceptable' and 'day-light robbery'.People were furious. As far as the hotel was concerned it was extremely average.Food was 5/10, the staff were pretty unfriendly in the bar and restaurant area and our hotel room was tiny and the shower had hardly any pressure. Will never go back and I would advise everyone to stay away.We are a group of lads in our late 30s and I can assure everyone reading these reviews that we are very easy to please!

I'm updating this review to say that the hotel got back to me, apologised and has made us a fair offer in compensation. Given this, I'd be happy to recommend the hotel, as other than missing the spa facilities, our stay was excellent.

The room was large, the little balcony was lovely overlooking the golf course, sun was out so sat out reading. All the staff was really nice and friendly. The food in the restaurant was really tasty and cooked well. Then a relaxed glass of wine in the bar area. I had a really good swedish one hour massage, the room was lovely and clean, the ambience was set lovely to relax in. Plus you can follw this on with a further relax in the steam room. The girl doing my treatment was very friendly and caring.Best of all you didnt have far to go to get all this as it was right there for you.

Disappointed and disatisfied! I was Covid positive on the day my sister and I were due to go to the hotel for a one night stay - a lovely birthday present from my sister for a significant birthday. We had booked and paid upfront and prepaid for beauty treatments. I did not have symptoms but morally did the right thing and cancelled. I didn't want to spread Covid to the hotel staff or therapists. The hotel has refused to refund or let us postpone/rearrange the booking!! In these hard and difficult times with Covid we were so looking forward to the break. I wouldn't book here again. (I would have put zero stars but not an option).

DO NOT STAY HERE unless youâre desperate! We booked for our anniversary for a four night stay.Having worked in hospitality most of my life, I understand how difficult things can sometimes be, especially at the momentâŠ. This place just takes the p**s!Receptionist was abrupt on arrival, but quite apologetic when we checked out an hour laterâŠ.We were told breakfast wasnât included , which we wasnât aware of previously.ÂŁ12 per day per person so paid it.Asked about spa treatments, receptionist said go online , I said it hadnât been working the last week or so that I had tried so she said we probably donât have anything then!Got to our room, flies everywhere, dead and alive! Smell of waste in the hallways and in our room.My husband wanted to go swimming, they said he had to pay ÂŁ15 per person, per day for 3 hours⊠again no pre warning of that when we booked! They offered to clean our room again so thought we would give them the benefit of the doubt, still flies when we returned off our own accord⊠no one came to tell us our room was âreadyâ!Manager on duty shying away from issues and wouldnât speak to us on check out, just left the poor receptionist to it.No music anywhere, very soulless! Bizarre layout⊠gym in the reception area, âtreatment roomsâ outside the bar/restaurant, âspaâ in the loft!Weâve got to try and get our money back from booking.com, and the ÂŁ96 for breakfasts, we need to wait for the accounts manager to refund us which could take âup to 10 daysâ!!Weâd had enough by this point and had only been there an hour, best to leave! We stayed at The Fox in Chipping Norton for the night, which was lovely. Have checked into The Tewksbury Hotel for the remainder of our stay⊠great so far!

Just got back from a golf weekend with 8 friends and overall had a great time.Breakfast was decent, dinner was a little bland in taste (we had the full range of main courses and everyone has similar comments) and service at the bar was very good, the staff there are a credit.Rooms were well furnished, clean and very comfortable. The golf course was in good condition considering recent rain and the amount of traffic. I've read similar reviews about how long the rounds can take and we has similar experience. 8 minute tee times are just too short, you end up with 3 groups on every holes.... Green, tee and fairway. It makes it a little tedious at times especially when groups start looking for balls and then the course just backs up. There should never been a case of 3 groups waiting on a tee box.Only other slight negative is that considering how good the practice facilities are, it really does miss out on have a fully working driving range... Rather than an small area you take your own balls.I'd definitely stay here again as the area is beautiful.
