It is our favourite Indian restaurant, the food is always great and the portions are generous. I see some reviews saying the staff is not friendly, I find them very polite and just not overbearing like some other restaurants.

Huge portions and a good selection of dishes. The biryani and tikka paneer were delicious. Everything we couldn’t have we brought it home.

The food was amazing... the staff are not the friendliest but come on... we mostly want to know how was the food. Very tasty and fresh. The only reason why I suspect this restaurant hasn’t got a better rate is because the staff are not very warm.

The waiters did take a while to bring out the menus once we sat down, however the food itself was good (I wouldn’t say anything special but good food nonetheless - photo is veg biriyani). They had run out of mango lassi on the day unfortunately. The saag paneer was average, shame there was no dessert options also!

Outstanding Vegan food, the host was very knowledgeable regarding what items on the menu were suitable for vegan diners, the chef having lots of experience also cooking vegan meals. We had a delicious meal, everything was fantastic, we had the mixed veg dhansak, bhuna and bombay aloo with a chickpea side dish. The chapatis were fab and the plain rice lovely and fluffy. Was v impressed, a must-visit for any vegans, and also non-vegans. Fantastic, thanks :-)

I remember when Daba opened, new name, new furniture/decor, new staff and best of all new tasty food. At last, having had a rather ‘tired’ curry house in Woodstock where your shoes stuck to the carpet, we have a restaurant worth a visit. Hmmm, well this Sunday after a day moving home, exhausted we just wanted a good hot meal on a cold foggy evening. Restaurant had a few diners and without a reservation we were offered a choice of places to sit. Service was good without a smile, food was mediocre. No sign of the fresh food that was 5* when it first opened, rather it was back to the tired/mass produced ‘curry’. My Chicken Saag that was so awesome in the new place, clearly lovingly prepared with a sprig of garnish and so flavoursome was nowhere to be seen - just the usual curry ‘dollop’ – the sort of thing that I use to enjoy after many ales on a Friday night. Plates were hot 🙂, except for the pilau rice plates which were stone cold 😕. My wife’s main course (chicken balti) lukewarm.Disappointing 😕

We have always found the food to be very good here, both dining in and takeaway. However over the last few years the service has sadly gone down hill which has put us off eating in any more, so we tend to stick to takeaways now. Shame.

This place is SO great. I am surprised the rating is only 4 stars?! It is definitely cooks 5 star curry! All sauces are made vegan and you can add meat if you like so my whole family is happy. The best local curry house around by a long way! Well done Daba.

Beautiful food and the staff were very attentive and friendly. Thursday night is any two mains for the price of one. There was 7 of us and we all had different meals and there were no complaints of any of us. The total bill was reasonable too. I will be going back.

The decor is dated and quite basic and there were far too many staff for such a small restaurant. Two girls didn't seem to know how to smile, third girl was very pleasant and polite. We were sat in the middle of the restaurant and because they were clearly over staffed they weren't far from us at any given moment, which didn't make for the most relaxed experience. We really enjoyed the food, especially liked the chicken Rogan Josh, very tasty!reasonably priced as well. I would go again but only because the food slightly made up for the overbearing number of staff surrounding us!
