Lovely location and a lovely afternoon tea. However the menu is just OK .... saw someone send back fish and chips as it was still frozen in the middle. Food looked OK.Afternoon tea was served beautifully in a dome however the price of a glass of wine is astronomical! More than a glass of champagne! It would stop me from visiting again but the staff were delightful.

Delicious snacks and pies! Not quite the cosy pub vibe we were hoping for, the restaurant felt a little lacking in personality. Aside from this, we loved our meal. The location is idyllic in a gorgeous Cotswolds hamlet, the staff very warm and attentive and the black pudding and picalilli made for a fantastic starter!

Excellent service and food on a Thursday night - relatively new to Witney so was our first time and will definitely be back soon. Thanks so much! Highly recommend[ No rating for the rooms as we just went for dinner ]

We had both a great lunch and a great evening meal on the same day here - lunch time it was us and one other couple - we had the charcuterie board and were well looked after by the bar staff. Very pleasant and attentive service, good quality food. The evening was just as good - the pies were delicious - nice relaxed atmosphere again. A very pleasant evening - so good that we are planning to stay at the pub next time we visit Minster Lovell.

One of those lovely country pubs where the brilliant exterior unfortunately does not live up to the interior design. The food menu was not very extensive, although the food we had was quite nice. And then there was the service. We were served by the 'manager' of the place who didn't seem to be bothered too much about the quality of it. When a customer asks "what teas do you serve?" , because there's none to be seen on the menu, and you respond "what tea would you like, we have so many!" is a pretty lousy response for a business trying to sell their product. And if this comes from the owner/manager of the establishment, well then...The older couple who were sitting behind us also kicked an absolute fuss about the service and quality of their food which was returned. Then our table was close to their bathroom and towards the end of our meal, thank God, a smell seemed to emanate from there.I give one star because our food was satisfactory, but sadly because of everything else, it is unlikely we will return.

We ordered coffee, hot chocolate and two beers. The "hot" and small drinks obviously stood around for a while as only warm unfortunately , but the beers were good, please note though no Guiness sold here we were told. A nice place to rest during a winter ramble in lovely surroundings.

Lovely location and interior, but the staff were exceptionally rude (all except one young lad) and the food was a huge let down. The burgers were chewy, the baked camembert barely cooked and my festive afternoon tea left a lot to be desired. The Christmas pie special was enjoyed by two of our party, but all the rest left feeling rather disappointed overall.

We just came for lunch after going for a walk. The pies were very nice but £15 is not good value for money. If you say that a pie comes with mash and roasted carrots, it should be a decent portion of both. 3 tiny shards of carrot stacked on the mash is not an adequate accompaniment and less than a spoonful of mash is just a joke. Really disappointed, as what we had was nice but there was as just nowhere near enough of it when you’re paying a main course price.

Beautiful. Only disappointment was their menu never changed and soup of the day was soup of the week (or longer). Maybe it's different now - I stayed a while ago. But hoping to come back next summer. Rooms are just lovely.

I was on a family get together and came for lunch. The pub is lovely and has a really authentic feel to it. I feel the welcome could have been a little warmer although service was prompt and courteous. I agree with others in that the small pie at fifteen pounds should either be bigger or come with greens or both. Anyone with a good appetite could easily eat two of these delicious pies. To sum up perhaps they don’t have to try harder as they re quite booked up.
