Should be called peri peri pizza. Very very rude inept staff. More concerned with stuffing their own faces by the pass and hiding behind the bar picking at desserts. Wish I could give it zero stars. The pizzas are awful with burnt toppings instead of a nice colour to the under carriage. Takes a real special 'pizzaiolo' to get that effect. Its not casual dining, and the simple pizza with its humble but pure beginnings is just substandard fast(slow service)food here. Its just awful. Dirty rancid unkempt toilets. I could go on, but I will stop at parsley on my pizza, why?! oh so terrible.

Pizza express has been in Witney for several years now this was our 1st visit and we weren’t disappointed. The staff were friendly and helpful the food was fresh and tasty. They made a custom pizza for one of us and a calzone without cheese for me. The calamari was superb as were all the other dishes. Thank you.

THIS WAS THE WORST DINNING EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE!!!!!!!I have worked in the catering business for five years and traveled all over the world cooking and eating at a wide range of different restaurants. This is by far the worst restaurant and worst experience I have EVER witnessed.I received my started 5 mins later than my wifes and ended eatting it after she was finished. Also the food was cold and was accompanied by my side of garlic dough balls which should have been served with my main course.AGAIN when i received my main it was ten minutes after my wifes meal so het again she had finished and i had only just started. When I approached the manger her only response was "mistakes happen" there was no apologies or any offer for a refund! For the rest of the evening we were ignored and offered no more hospitality. This is not acceptable by any standard. I would seriously consider the other dinning options in witney area. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR YOU MONEY in such a unprofessional, rude and unhygienic "restaurant"The rest rooms where unclean and there was wee all over the floor this is lazy house keeping and unhygienic for food handlers to work and prep food in.

Very nice place to eat with a good menu that can cater to all tastes. The staff are polite and happy to help and the food was very good.

How to lose customers, Pizza Express style...Placed a takeaway order for delivery at 8.23pm on a Wednesday evening. We were given a delivery window between 9 - 9.25pm. Absolutely fine. When the delivery window had come and gone, we checked the tracking & noted it was now 9:40 - 10pm delivery. Bit annoying, but still okay. When the delivery time kept changing, and got beyond 10.15pm, we tried to cancel because we were up for work early and needed to go to bed. Couldn't cancel because no one at the restaurant answered the phone & there's no method, as a customer, to contact deliveroo about a specific order! Left 2 messages at pizza express branch, but nothing. It is now nearly half past midnight (yep, we're hungry!!), a full 4 hours later, and our projected delivery time is 12.50Am... , with a lovely little message that they are preparing our order. Interesting, given that the restaurant shut over 2 hours earlier than this, at 10.30pm. I note that they have taken the money for our order and it is quite clear now, that it is not going to be delivered at all.Hands down, the worst and most disappointing takeaway experience with any restaurant ever. We will never be ordering from here again!

Seem to be slipping, and fast. We've always enjoyed Pizza Express as a family but my experience this evening has left me quite hesitant to revisit. My daughter, having received a gift card for Christmas was trying to order online. Not a large order, just a Margherita and some olives. Delivery or collection, either was fine. After 30 minutes of us both trying and failing, I called them directly.A helpful sounding lad answered in good time and I put in the order and he suggested collection between 5:15 and 5:30. Great! That gave us 45 minutes to get down there and for them to prepare the pizza.I arrived at 5:25 behind a gaggle of young ladies ordering food. I didn't mind that I was stood there until 5:35 before I could say I was there for a collection, that's not unusual and of course, they have to serve people ahead of me. However, being barked at by the server that I should instead be stood at the bar when I was served wasn't ideal. I let it pass and duly stood at the bar expecting they were keeping my daughter's pizza warm somewhere out back.5 minutes later that I was asked if I had been served to which I explained I had an order for collection at 5:30 and that the server had asked me to wait there. I was asked if I had paid and proceeded to offer up the gift card. After his third attempt to process it, the member of staff had to go find their manager to put it through... And it was at this point it dawned on me that they hadn't yet processed my order and only added it to the queue once the payment had gone through... at 5:45. Behind the large group that was ordering when I arrived to collect. It was around 5:50 that said group returned looking for their pizzas to collect. And there I was, still sat there waiting as instructed. After their enquiry was met with a warm greeting and a pleasant smile, with the suggestion that their food was almost done I decided to ask if my order was going to be much longer - the response wouldn't have been more contrasted - simply a snapped response that they would check. None of the friendliness that was there moments before - I was left with the sense she (the manager) was frustrated I dared ask when it was clear the large group were there ahead of me. I was certain she had been told I was there for collection at 5:30, but let that go as well.Just before 6pm I had the pizza thrust into my hands and with a sarcastic smile and a thinly veiled "enjoy your food" was spat at me as I was ushered out of the door.I bit my tongue and left. I didn't see a point in making a scene or calling her up on her attitude, but now I'm home I'm still really surprised at having been spoken to in that way.Was it the fact I was using a gift card? My appearance? The small size of the order? I've no idea, but clearly something had riled them.My daughter says the pizza was good, of which I'm glad, but I'm in no hurry to go back.

I have eaten here a few years ago and from decor perspective not much has changed. On this, post-Covid restrictions visit, found the restaurant quiet. This may reflect on some of the other recent reviews, some of which were scathing, but may have been normal for the time of my visit.Personally, I was seated quickly and tended to in a polite appropriate manner. My order this evening certainly had the 'Express' element as I can't recall receiving my meal as quickly anywhere before; seemed like under 5 minutes! There is no 'but' either as the food was as I've come to expect from Pizza Express. My only negative point agrees with another reviewer in questioning why one member of staff was not wearing a mask when all others & members of the public were, especially while handling food. My impression was the individual was the duty manager...

The food was good but it did take a solid 40 mins for the pizza to come out after a mistake was made which kind of took the express element away. But good staff and excellent food, partner is Gluten Free and her dough balls and pizza base were practically as good as the normal flour.
