Rowing Machine in West Oxfordshire

Not the best food we have had. Had to wait for our meals some came out first and then had to wait for 2 more to come out started eating still waiting for 10 mins for the other 2 meals To come had to go too the bar and ask where the other meals was when they came out they were only luke warm them as I was eating mine my steak undercooked I asked for well done and came out rare so my sister ate it chicken breast Rock hard and tough fried egg hard gammon very very salty couldn’t eat not very good

Weve been eating here occasionally for years and up until the pandemic I couldnt fault the place. This visit will be our last. Nearly 20 mins to be shown our pre booked table, almost an hour for food to arrive. After finishing our main and having already ordered our desserts since the long long mains wait (kids and an hour wait isnt good) half an hour after finishing the main I decided to prompt for our desserts which I had to queue at the bar again with only 1 bar staff running both sides on a sunday tea time. Over 2 hours to have 2 courses is just not good when you have hungry impatient children. I feel for the staff I genuinely do as its clear the place just doesnt have the numbers to run as it once did. Just to add the menu seems to have gone down hill too although thats a greene king/hungry horse thing and not the rowing machine.

All round a nice place, except you have to get water from this jug across the room, tastes weird and it's not filled up all the time. Food is decent though.

Food very good and staff have always been helpful, friendly, and polite.

Ordered the full monty mixed grill and classic chicken New Yorker for my parents and they had to take them both back and remake the meals as not only where chicken Luke warm/cold on both plates but gammon on the mixed grill was also luke warm once they had a freshly cooked meal it was enjoyable but it’s a shame about the hassle of having to wait again for another meal to be cook and everyone else at the table was nearly finished when they where just starting again 😐

Had rost dinner today was not impressed carrots hard and cauliflower .chicken tasted if if it was cooked in water and potatoes were soft.will not be having another one there. I be there before and aways had a lovely meal.

Always a pleasure at the rowing machine. Friendly staff. Good Food at great prices. Brilliant family pub. X x

2 stars are here for the front of house staff amazing bunch of people but that's where it stops we have tried again and again to give this establishment a chance but the food is just terrible firstly can't count as we were shorted wings (sorted by front of house staff) then my sons kids meal was missing one chicken strip and the garlic bread was burnt then onto my main my burger was like roadkill with flakes of charcoal and chips were colder than the iceberg that sunk the titanic and then to top it off my candy mania had no soft cookie pieces

We (family of four) have just had the most delicious breakfast I’ve had for the longest time! I had a burrito, my daughter a breakfast wrap, son breakfast sundae (pictured) and my husband the big breakfast. EVERYTHING looked visually stunning, it was all beautifully put together and piping hot. I couldn’t have hoped for better.Price wise… feeding a hungry camping family of four for under £25 (including drinks) is completely unheard of!!Service….. we were greeted by a lovely young lady who explained the app system etc. She was polite, friendly and courteous at all times. I will definitely be back!

Attentive & polite staff. Good & plentiful food, good kids menu with more than the usual.
