Sunday party of 6 and a baby, arrived early and the table was ready for us. Enjoyed a drink in the bar to start, we were looked after by the manager and staff very well throughout. The Sunday roasts were a plate and half full, extremely tasty, good value for money. Will return when back in the area.

Had first roast here and it was the best pub roast I've ever had, staff friendly and polite, not had to wait long, beef and chicken best I've ever tasted.. all the meat and veg was all cooked and seasoned beautifully.. if you want a Sunday lunch I highley recommend. Not bad pricing either.

Great meal spoilt by an argument over the bill. Super location and menu. Service was good until the food arrived. The fish on the fish and chips was so overcooked you could have used it as a baseball bat! It was quickly replaced, but then came out without the sides. Then one of our burgers was underdone. Cold and pink in the middle. This was also changed. They promised to take the fish and chips off the bill.At the end of the meal. The fish and chips was still on the bill plus a large service charge!Really disappointing from such a well rated establishment.

Service was friendly, food was terrible. Fish and had to be returned, burnt batter and colleagues burger was under cooked pink and under cooked. However, the scotch egg starter was amazing. We were reimbursed without issue. Assistant manager was very professional. I'm on another evening the food might have been very good.

Good food and great service from ‘B’ who was jovial and polite even when we paid the bill!.. great service. We went back to the Blue Boar..... 'B' served us again and all the Table (5 of us ) commented on how well she managed a lively group, and noticed how kind she was to an elderly gentleman who was having trouble with his card.the food was as good and there was a very generous helping of tartare sauce, absolutely spot on! every meal was hot and well presented, and the young gent who sorted the bill out was very patient... well done that man.

Firstly, cannot fault the atmosphere of the pub, and the lovely meal. However, the sneakiness of settling of the bill leaves a lot to be desired. Receipt given with a total for meal (which isn't cheap to start with), then a second subtotal with a 12.5% 'discretionary' service charge (which wouldn't necessarily mind but we were only there for 45 minutes for a quick meal). Cash payment not then allowed. When amount entered into card machine by waitress, not asked whether additional service charge was to be paid, and higher amount entered. Card machine then tried to be kept hidden in the hope that the customer would just wave card over the contactless and pay the higher amount. Very much left a sour taste in the mouth after a lovely meal.

Nice quiet table in the bar for two drinks, slightly pricing, London prices for two double gins over £20! Think it was card only at the time which isn't ideal for people on holiday but understand due to Covid

Really delightful pub. Very good service and the food was delicious. Lovely surroundings and easy enough to talk. We had early dinner before theatre so I imagine it is fairly busy later.

Very nice tasty Burger, was a little greasy, could tell the salad was fresh out of the fridge which made the burger get cold very quickly.Helpful and friendly staff but felt a little rushed with taking our food order. But all in enjoyed our food and drinks.
