Friendly team, nice food, good range of drinks. Accommodation was really nice too. My only criticism is the service in the evening in the bar area - we had plates left on our table for ages after eating and our empty glasses pretty much all night. Apart from that the hostess in the morning in the breakfast lounge was amazing and thr guy checking us into our rooms the night before was really friendly. I'm sure we will be back

Excellent Sunday roast. Friendly and efficient service, kept us sorted throughout. Food was really very good indeed, much better than standard Sunday fayre, so will, well with the money. All in all, highly recommended. Great stuff. Thanks.

Visited the Blue Boar last night with some friends. The pizzas were delicious but the star of the night were the staff. They were so lovely, friendly, helpful and not over bearing. I'd return purely down to the service. Well done team

I enjoyed two meals here in the dining room as well as tea in the front lounge. The service was polite and efficient. The food was very good, I had a view of the kitchen and chef and enjoyed watching a professional at work taking obvious pride in preparation and presentation even when confronted with a strange request for scrambled eggs Benedict rather than poached. Admirable adaptation and tasty, thank you. Your burger was delicious. I will not hesitate to visit again.

On mini-break in the Cotswolds. Google searched restaurants near our hotel and we chose the Blue Boar in Witney. We booked a table through their user-friendly online booking system. We were pleasantly surprised on arrival; spacious restaurant, nice ambience, friendly staff, delicious food + good gluten-free options 👍 We were so impressed that we booked again for our last meal in the Cotswolds. Highly recommend.

Absolutely superb. We had an overnight stay and a meal here. The food was exceptional! Our room for the night was perfect. Very good night sleep. Staff also were friendly. The one thing that let's the place down is parking. We parked right up by the church and just risked getting a ticket. Everywhere is short stay parking but it is all free.

I often mention how the mark of a good establishment is how they handle the exceptions. We went there for dinner and started with a drink from the bar, then ordered our pizza. After waiting almost 45 minutes I looked around to see if everybody else was waiting. They were not. When I asked our waitress if she had put the order in she said yes and blamed it on a large table. I told her I didn't think she had and all I wanted was an acknowledgement so I can see how long my pizza would be.Anyway, a manager, Calum, came over and of course apologised. He insisted on doing something for us to make it better. We told him we didn't need anything and we were fine. But he insisted and then checked on us a several times along with another manager to make sure everything was ok.This totally changed our evening. We will definitely be back many times.By the way, the pizza was amazing - one of the best ones we've had in a long time.Show less

Great roast chicken today and enjoyed the free extra veg and potatoe option. Friendly staff. We were seated close to the entrance so got quite a draft as customers walked in and out but the wood burner was on so all good. Recommended

Our food took ages to arrive, despite only a few guests in the restaurant. One of the most disappointing burgers I've had in a long time and definitely the worst sticky toffee pudding. In fact, I wouldn't call it sticky toffee pudding as there was hardly any "toffee" or butterscotch sauce in the dish. Unfortunately, I won't be visiting The Blue Boar again.

Fantastic place to stay, quiet, comfortable and clean rooms that are also dog friendly. Roaring fire welcoming us to breakfast every morning and the most amazing and attentive staff. The manager couldn't do enough to accommodate us and Emma and Sandra in the bar were excellent at their job but also going the extra mile to make sure we were taken care of. We will stay again soon we loved it!
