Excellent place. Very comfortable homely bar. Enjoyed my visit .highly recommended

Location is perfect, right on the doorstep of everything you need.Rooms are dated, a little unloved but all in all okay. Could be cleaner but not filthy.Location is mega. Right in the middle of town. Tonnes of pubs, restaurants and bars.Staff are great, the guy with the beard very friendly and helpful. Bar staff are good too.Manage your expectations before arrival. The price reflects the quality of the rooms.Would stay again.

My boyfriend and his colleagues recently stayed here and was given a dirty room and when they gave him a new room it wouldn't be a room I'd give my worst enemy. To say the shower dribbled would give it credit. The beds were appalling, to quote him "my patio has more give than the mattress" the pillows amounted to nothing. If he could give 0 stars I think he would.

No soap in the room! A kettle and mug, but no tea?! There wasn’t even a full roll of toilet paper! Genuinely the worst hotel I’ve stayed in. 1 star is generous, wish I could give no stars.

I was down visiting a friend and we came to watch the champions league final. Decent little bar with what you need, can't comment on the hotel side of it.

·

Beautiful traditional hotel, great bar with well kept lines and a great inviting local atmosphere.

No towels in the room.No milk with the coffee and tea on offer.Wouldn't say it was worth £60 a night.Room was a little dated.Bed was comfortable.Hotel is surrounded with local shops and places to eat.Would consider staying again if the price was a lot cheaper

Stopped at the Crown and Cushion for two nights. It was OK, but as it stands I don't think I would stop again as it is.There is a car park to the rear which is good and supposed leisure facilities, but these weren't open. It's in central Chipping Norton so is good for looking round the town. There was no breakfast served when I was there which was really strange, but there are plenty of places in town to get breakfast if you want. The room was spacious enough but it really wanted a good deep vacuuming and dusting especially around the edges of the room. This was the same for the other room that my family was booked in. I wouldn't call it dirty, but perhaps grubby. The bed was tired in my room, could have really done with a topper or new mattress as I could feel the springs in it. However in the other room the bed was fine, if a bit wobbly! As others have said, no toiletries are supplied which is a bit unusual. In room facilities are a bit sparse as well. One thing to note is that some of the rooms are at the end of a long corridor which is multi-level and can be a bit of a trek. Also there are no proper handrails on the short flights of stairs, only a small brass handle which made negotiating them a bit difficult for some and this wasn't helped by the lighting in the corridors being a bit dim and no light fittings near to the stairs. The bar is lovely and snug and the locals friendly, as are the staff. But you get the feeling that the hotel is woefully understaffed, over the two and a half days we saw a total of five, who seemed to have to run the bar, reception, food and cleaning, etc. If this is the case, then I can see why there are difficulties with cleaning the rooms, if there are 30+ rooms plus bar and dining area then one cleaner is not going to keep on top of it.

Nice room and bathroom, room was quite cold though, single heater and a double quilt provided so sleep was very good. Tip for housekeeping, please put the heater on before client arrives to give the room a chance to heat up
