Where is The Mason Arms?

🏠 Artist Residence Oxfordshire, Station Rd, South Leigh, Witney OX29 6XN

"Tucked away in the village of South Leigh, The Mason Arms is a quaint thatched pub that isn’t quite what it seems. Fun, friendly and a little offbeat, with the warm welcome and hearty hospitality of a traditional inn, this is a place for meeting, eating, drinking and merry-making, from coffees to cocktails, breakfast to bedtime."

Perfect evening. The shepherd’s hut is so cool. Shower was amazing! Log burner creates a perfect atmosphere. Dinner and drinks were great. Staff are really lovely. Thanks Amy.

I’m always on the lookout for great country pubs and after driving past last summer I thought I must go there for lunch one day.As I was on holiday for mother’s day but thought it would be nice for Sunday lunch on the 3rd April 2022. On arrival The pub has a nice atmosphere and the staff were welcoming. The menu looked great and we were all expecting some exceptional food for the price.I couldn’t fault the smoked haddock scotch egg starter and the Sticky toffee pudding was nice. Then unfortunately everything was let down by the £18 roast beef and roast chicken roasts. On my plate the food was submerged in water where they hadn’t drained the kale properly making everything cold, the roast potatoes were bizarrely burnt and undercooked like they had been cooked under the grill and I thought I was going to start blowing bubbles with the beef. You usually get a member of staff ask if everything is ok but we never had that which I feel I would of said something. I’m not one for complaining but felt this review was necessary as I was so disappointed. Such a shame as Wetherspoons would of done better.

Had a great visit to The Mason Arms (Artist Residence) pub on Sunday.Super friendly greeting and lovely attentive staff. We ordered x2 of the 1/4 Lemon & Thyme Chicken roasts. Great roast, came with extra Gravy and Cheese Cauliflower. For the price, didn't feel like we were getting a lot of chicken, but the taste definitely made up for it.Really nice atmosphere - Warm, cosy, fireplace country but with a modern vibe.Would definitely re-visit.

Warm and welcoming, as were the staff. Good food, large portions so be hungry especially if you go for the double burger! Booking recommended.

Very quaint restaurant set in a quiet village just outside Witney. Lovely driftwood outside seating welcomes you up the entrance path.Very welcoming staff greeted us at the bar.We booked a table for the Sunday lunch slot, so roasts were the menu choice between 12 and 3pm.The food was extremely prompt from the time of ordering, it arrived before my cocktail 🍸Good food and lovely cocktails made this a great choice for a Sunday dinner venue.I'll be returning to try the A la carte menu at a later date.Lovely attentive friendly staff made this a pleasurable visit.

After Reading reviews in Tripadvisor and Google I figured this sounded like a nice place to take the wife for her Birthday and it didn’t disappoint. The staff were friendly from the outset, the service excellent and the Food superb.Set in a lovely country pub the atmosphere is lovely and whilst the layout rambles its well presented and allows for a relaxed dining experience.I filled out the online booking form and just happened to put it was the Wife’s birthday. I didn’t ask for the ice-cream and candle, it was a lovely touch at the end of our meal and put a huge smile on her face. We’ll be back!

One rarely goes to a middle of no where pub to get Top of the line food.... this place is amazing. My companion even asked if this place might have a Michelin star by chance. Absolute gem and a must visit if you are in the are. Highly recommend their deserts as well

Really nice pub in a very nice setting. Kids loved the back garden with a large tree to play on. Food was very good. Had mussels and prawn cocktail. Can recommend. Staff was also super friendly. Sat outside but inside looked very cosy as well. Had two fireplaces.
