The interior is nice. We visited on a Tuesday evening and there were loads of tables available. The food could be a lot improved. For example, the sweet potato chips are floppy and only lukewarm when served. The ribs could be better marinated before cooking. The table service also be improved - food order was slightly mixed up, and one of the waiting staff could be better trained to provide better hospitality with a more friendly attitude.

Had a nice lunch for a group of 18 Senior people. Everyone ordered something different and everyone was very pleased with their choice. The waitress was very friendly, patient and helpful and sorted everyone's bills separately. The meals were very nice with a good selection and all came together quite quickly. I had baguette with chicken goujons and tartar.

Ideal pub to stop by and have lunch. Staff is welcoming, the place is small but cosy indoors. Toilets were cleaned but very small, no more than 2 people in the washroom at same time. It took about 10 minutes to get the bill. There is not much as choice for the menu, but the food was well cooked.

Food is good, but when paying, no one tells you that they're adding service charge. This lead to a query as my sum did not add up. Receipt was not given till after the query. Embarrassing moment one would say.

Unfortunately did not have a great experience with the service and food also to the price they charge. Restaurant ambience is tidy. Beers served was quite warm( first Turn off). We ordered pizza and Fries, but none of them were tasty. Pizza was underbaked and Fries were soggy. The burgers were good but too dry.It took us long time to get our food on the table. Had to remind the lady to serve our Beer atleast bit early before the food arrives. Left the restaurant after a beer.

A nice bar/restaurant, with a rustic feel. Nice staff, and the food was good.I did have the double burger and thick chips, which was of a very high standard.I would actually go as far as to say the best burger I have eaten. The beef was of a high standard, which you could tell as soon as you had your first mouthful.Slight confusion over empty condiments provided, but rectified quickly.

It's a beautiful local pub with a great staff. Very friendly and kind. The food was delicious. Highly recommended.

Charming. Delightful. Lovely. Enjoyable. Just a few words to describe our experience at The Mermaid. We stopped in for some drinks and a quick bite and could have stayed all day. The staff was amazing! (Not sure what draft beer to try, ask Charlotte. She's got you covered.) The drinks were fantastic! And the food certainly hit the spot! Cozy inside seating on two floors and perfectly shaded tables on the front sidewalk (perfect for people watching). The Mermaid is our new go to place in Burford.

I challenge someone to find worse food anywhere in Burford. Burgers were burnt to a crisp, the Mac and cheese was very citrus like and the glasses were not clean. The incorrect bill came twice and the staff member didn't like that we challenged it
