Arrived asking if still did food service at 14:20 to be told unfortunately food stopped at 2pm, but they can offer basket meals at the price of £8.50. Simple selection but with my mother of 78, it wasn't ideal but we went with the flow. We paid an astonishing £36 for food and drinks for three. whilst ordering the drinks, some small talk from the barman/owner about a old mate coming down and that he'd been 'Heineken'd and probably feeling it later' was the bar mans choice of words whilst serving us and discussing his day with other punters. Great! We chose to sit in the court yard, sun trap and beautiful but unfortunately smokers were there. Other couples we're also informed of the late food basket ordering offered, some 20 minutes after us. Their food arrived within 10 minutes of them ordering. I then asked where our food was as it had been 48 minutes since ordering - It takes time to burn the sausages he replied! (my mom asked for well done sausages! not burnt to a crisp!) The meals arrived and to my shock, the content of the baskets of food was appalling! I asked for more chips as I had only 19 slim chips in the basket, yet the extras we asked for arrived within 5 minutes of complaining and asking for more.He thought it was so funny whilst clearing the plates away!Very disappointing to what seemed a good looking place! In summary, avoid if possible, as there are many other good food outlets in the area.

The pub is very cosy and the staff was giving a warm welcome. Food was superb and the prices are reasonable. The room was clean and everything felt quality. Over all my visit was well above expectations

What a lovely little pub! Had a big family meal and even though they're small they sat us on a few tables and catered warmly to us. The pub itself it beautifully set with plants outside and a cute little garden. The staff were so friendly and welcoming and the food....well that was lovely and very well priced! A generous roast portion and very well cooked. It's set out in the countryside but definitely worth a visit!

Stopped in for a pint and a dish of ice cream with my daughter. This is a beautiful country pub and although we did not eat all of the food we observed looked excellent. They have a cozy area surrounding the fireplace with games, books and nice sofa - exactly the place you want to find on a chilly evening.

The food was excellent. Homemade steak and ale pie that melted in your mouth. Locally made sausages that were all meat. Staff very helpful and friendly. We ll be back very soon now we've found it. A little gem

This is a wonderful and homely village pub and the owners and bar manager are welcoming. I have enjoyed numerous visits for bar snacks, full meals and simply drinks; I have never been disappointed. The menu and service are of an extremely high standard.I shall be visiting when I next return to the area.

Lovely room and en-suite. Alex and Sarah made us feel very welcome and we had an enjoyable meal in the evening. A great pub on the outside of the village and ideally placed for exploring the Cotswolds.

Lovely place to stay. The staff were really friendly, our room was clean and nice and private. We also ate in the pub which offers great meals. The accommodation is also ideally located for getting to other places.

Just had Sunday lunch here, the staff are lovely and friendly, helpful and always with a smile. Beautifully restored with a light bright touch to the inside and out. Nothing seems too much trouble, the food is heavenly, so lovingly presented wonderful flavours but very generous portions, Buffalo wings , Belly pork and garlic bread a must to try. We'll be back to try the rest of the menu

This old pub has been beautifully restored by the new owners to give a completely new lease of life. We visited yesterday and had a fantastic time there. The Food & Drink offering was top drawer and well priced, a brilliant Chef to boot and the friendly welcome by Liam in the bar could put most other places to shame. Well done all and we will return very soon.
