A stunning property with amazing architecture. Lovely comfortable bedroom and very well appointed. Picturesque courtyard with tables and chairs for relaxing in the beautiful surroundings. Our host 'Bill' is a complete pro and a great character. He also cooked me probably the best Eggs Royale for breakfast that I have ever had in my entire life!! Good sized secure car park at the rear of the property. The village is 'chocolate box' beautiful and we enjoyed a stroll after breakfast around the Wychwood Wild Gardens where there were many happy birds and wildlife, enjoying expertly maintained woodlands and ponds. Highly recommend the Shaven Crown and its owner Bill who went the extra mile to make sure our stay was perfect.

Lovely building, our room and bathroom were clean and nicely kitted out. Even a 2nd double bedded room attached.Breakfast was very nice and well presented and a good choice. We were able to have dinner on the 2nd night which was excellent and the wine also was pretty good and both sensibly priced. On the first night we had to eat at the Lamb Inn where the food was not a patch on the Shaven Crown and more expensive. We would highly recommend the Hotel.

Wonderful pub in a beautiful setting. Food was delicious and beautifully presented, the staff were very helpful and attentive, ensuring plenty of options for vegetarian and gluten free diets. Highly recommend, nicest pub we visited in the area.

Situated in the very picturesque village of Shipton under Wychwood this former coaching Inn is steeped in history. Although the chef had left, leaving the proprietor Bill with no possibility of offering an evening meal, it did not detract from our stay. Well worth a visit.

We really Enjoyed our stay at the shaven crown. The place is beautiful, exactly what you'd wish for weekend in the Cotswolds. Our room was super cute (the crown room) and we loved the style, although the bathroom was a surprise (it's very modern and doesn't really go with the vibe of the hotel). The breakfast is absolutely gorgeous, full of flavour and well cooked.Service was great and the owner very helpful. We felt the room could have been cleaner. There was dust in the drawers and a big spider and spiderweb smack in the entrance of the room (yikes), everything else was perfect.I would definitely recommend staying here

The rooms are decorated with neutral colours with a good firm mattress. The food served at dinner was fantastic with "Bill" making sure we were looked after with drinks. We were a big party of 8 that they managed to feed and look after. A really nice hotel in a lovely quiet village in the cotswold.

Lovely stay in this characterful hotel; you can feel the history around you! Beautiful traditional features - especially in the large hall and courtyard - comfortable room, excellent quality (perfect size) breakfast (probably the best hotel breakfast I've had) and dinner, welcoming hosts with a bit of banter - we will be back!

Fantastic nights stay at this rustic and charming hotel. The main room is really beautiful with so much history and character. The food was great and the staff were exceptional, particular thanks to Abilio, Vasco and Jade for your recommendations and all round attentiveness. Not a lot to do in the area so lovely for a quiet one, the bed was really comfortable and bathroom very clean,we’d definitely recommend for authentic Cotswolds experience!

Stayed here for a Saturday night, and it was a perfect stay! Our hosts were amazing; friendly and helpful, and they really went out of their way to make you feel comfortable. The room (we stayed in Ascott) was beautiful, and the bed so comfortable. Usual amenities (tea and coffee, toiletries, etc.) with the lovely addition of a bathrobe per guest (not seen much these days, unfortunately!). The food was incredible! We both went for the full cooked breakfast in the morning, which was made to order, and were not disappointed. However, we knew to expect great things having had an amazing and delicious dinner the night before! The building is beautiful, the stay was perfect, and you can see the care and detail that has gone into every aspect, from the beautiful decor, to the friendly welcome when you arrive.Highly recommend, both to stay, or for a meal!!

Could not have had a better new year's eve. We had a room at the hotel and the delicious tasting menu served up for the evening's celebration. The hotel itself is beautiful and appointed really luxuriously. The room was immensely comfortable and the dinner was frankly superb. Many courses of different food, each one more or less perfectly executed and delicious. My favourite was either the cow cheek or the poached pear and panacotta. The owners and staff could not have been more helpful and service was dedicated and with a genuine smile. We were made to feel truly welcome and cannot wait to go back.
