A lovely find. Love my afternoon/lunch spent here. Friendly and nice owner with super service, tranquil environment with a nice field for kids to run around. Food were great, especially the fish and chips. Environment is clean and well maintained. Please do visit if its on the way for your next destination. To the owner, thank you for a wonderful meal.

Nice place. Some staff were a little unfriendly, we were not offered any condiments with our meals we had to ask more than once for them.Ordered drinks on arrival but unfortunately was not asked again during our meal! which was really bad considering we were a family of 5.Food could of done with being warmer and when asked for black pepper we were frowned at by the staff member. Will go again definitely as such beautiful surroundings, hopefully the staff are having a better day and the service is spot on next time.If these things would of been right on our visit today we would of given a better rating.

We went for Mother's Day late lunch. Food was beautifully cooked & fresh. Staff were excellent & efficient. Sat by the window with lovely views over the fields. Very reasonably priced considering we all had 3 courses each. Would highly recommend this restaurant 😊

As a visitor from North Carolina, USA, I thoroughly enjoyed Sunday Roast with my daughter and friend at the Windmill restaurant. The service was exceptional and once our order was taken, we were served within a short span of time, with friendliness and extreme hospitality. The food was fresh, well-prepared and very tasteful. It was the best experience I’ve had for a Sunday lunch and can personally recommend it without any doubt!

We went to The Windill for Sunday roast and we were not disappointed. Our main server was Allison who was a joy. She was friendly and cheerful and very helpful. I have to mention the server before Alison who helped advise about vegan alternatives. We ordered the duo roast and I had the nut roast. Delicious food. Could not fault the whole experience topped off with a picturesque view! Thanks team!

What an awesome experience having Sunday Roast on a rainy day with my dad visiting from overseas. Warm and welcome atmosphere. The staff are attentive with excellent service and exceptional food! We were a table of 3 and we each had a different plate, varying from beef, turkey and nut roast with decent portions and quality veggies. Portions were very generous and tasty. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a family outing. Can’t recommend highly enough.

Very nice food, reasonably priced, not cheap but not expensive. I had the venison casserole served with plenty of dumplings, fresh veg, and proper mashed potatoes. Pipping hot, good sized portion, tender and well flavoured. Will call back if in the area.

My friend and I arrived at midday (11th Dec 2021) and were invited to choose a table. We selected one by the window for the beautiful scenic views, despite the wet and grey weather. The waitress was very patient as we had been chatting and not decided what we would eat at first, so we ordered some drinks, which arrived in good time. After eventually choosing and ordering our food, we did not have long to wait before it was brought out to us. We both had the Ribeye Steak, with chips and mushrooms. It was all very hot and tasty. We chatted for a little while after finishing and subsequently decided to have a dessert of Bread & Butter Pudding with Creme Anglaise. It was delicious!! The service was friendly and attentive and the atmosphere was very pleasant. The food was well-priced and cooked nicely. We felt very relaxed at The Windmill and would definitely recommend to others

The views from this restaurant are second to none. The food exceeded our expectations, we had a 3 course lunch and each course was beautifully presented and cooked to perfection. Service was friendly and speedy, perhaps a little too efficient but I think it was due to the fact the restaurant was very quiet and the waiting staff may have been new and being trained and so a bit eager. All in all, would absolutely visit again.

Came here 5 years ago and came back after finding ourselves in the area. The restaurant has changed hands since we last visited but the food was excellent and atmosphere great. Will definitely drop in again if we are ever passing
