Whistlers in West Oxfordshire

Staff were great but unfortunately the food didn't match up. It was be us as there's lots of good reviews but wasn't to our liking.

Booked a table for two for Whistlers after walking past when we visited Chipping Norton last week. Went on Saturday night and it was nearly full so a lovely atmosphere. The waitress was lovely, very attentive without being overbearing and the owners brother was visiting from Australia and working that night - he was great ! The menu was fantastic - they do a set menu, a tasting menu or a la carte- which was what we had. A lot of the food was Gluten free which I need so it was perfect ! The food was outstanding - best meal we had in the week we stayed in Oxford. I had the scallop, then the John Dory and then the strawberry and raspberry terrine - divine ! A lovely restaurant with lovely staff and amazing food - highly recommended! No photos of food I’m afraid - it was so good I forgot 🙈

What a find, what a jewel of a restaurant, tucked neatly away in the heart of Chipping Norton. I was there yesterday for dinner with my wife and we both loved it. The food was utterly delicious. The service was professional and friendly. Also the background music was great. If there were more stars to give, I would. Well done indeed :)

Food was good ,friendly service,had a 8 coures dinner ,sad they a other customers with crying babies which spoiled the evening ,not too happy with the service charge

I came in while an amazing Irish folk band were playing. The atmosphere was great, and the service was very friendly, even if I did knock over a pint.

What a wonderful find this restaurant was.Fabulous food and wonderful service.My only regret is I won’t have time to return for another dinner before returning to Australia.Well done guys for a truly wonderful experience.👍

Flavoursome food, well cooked, but eyewateringly expensive. London prices in a small provincial town can't be justified.

Very nice and professional service. Tomato soup home made very tasty, my wife and I ordered a steak and it looked beautiful and tasted delicious. Comfortable and friendly atmosphere. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Delicious food and gorgeous sitting outside in the shade! Good wine selection.

Very good food and atmosphere friendly staff going over the odds to make us feel welcome and comfortable would definitely recommend food was spot on 👍🏻
