Alma Crown Carvery in Winchester

Very very good value for money midweek carvery. The meat ( turkey and beef) was really very good. The veggies needed a lot more seasoning so no more than three stars. Half a star extra for the jam sponge and custard. Very much improved since our last visit prepandemic.

Lunchtime visit.On this occasion we had main courses only.Food very good and hot.Very good service at the bar and the food brought to our table.

Food was OK, but service very poor. This place used to be heaving, but was virtually empty on the night we went. Despite the lack of other customers, the service left a lot to be desired.... We waited ages for someone to seat us, the girl serving at the bar looked as miserable as sin, and someone needed to be brought out from the kitchen to serve was little food there was. Considering how great this place used to be, with great food, terrific prices and often queues out of the door, things have gone massively downhill.

Ben yet again made our visit wonderful! Very friendly and adding fun to the experience. A tasty lunch and can’t wait for the next time. Thank you for making Hartley happy too 😀

Good value for your basic hearty roast ! Meat was actually soft and cooked beautifully for a chain pub - affordable and family friendly. Would recommend if you want a quick roast and don't fancy cooking

Excellent carvery. Roasts were spot on and I'm VERY fussy on my spuds. Best I've ever had apart from mine 🤣.. Eating out... Staff were great and even gave me a box as couldn't manage it all so I could take it home

Great roast gammon, roast potatoes and veg perfectly cooked. Fantastic price in a relaxed environment. Friendly staff. Will definitely visit again.

Visited for the first time this afternoon. It was absolutely amazing. The range on the menu is wide and we found something for everyone, even my daughters who have severe allergies, therefore it can be hard to eat out with them. The staff, especially Ella and the managers were so lovely to deal with, they were polite and professional and really nice. The whole atmosphere meal was brilliant. Would definitely recommend and return

Always very good food and staff are lovely. There was a delay on our food but without even saying anything we were brought complimentary drinks as an apology. Always go back here.
