Bar + Block Steakhouse in Winchester

Went for the first time. Was a bit confusing where the bar and restraunt was. The restraunt is very well decorated and the staff where lovely. Ordered the classic burger with added mozzarella cheese and bacon with extra burger patty. Food arrived in good time. The fries were fine but the burger was not. The burger was very dry and bland. It seemed like there was no seasoning and the burger left a horrible burnt after taste in my mouth. I still ate it as I was hungry, but I told the staff of the issue and they said they would leave my comments with the chef. The rest of the burger was fine. The bun, the sauce and lettuce and tomato were ok. It was just mainly the meat that suffered. It's possible that the burger was over cooked in my opinion. Needs the be juicy for the nice flavour and seasoned.

Overall very disappointing, we went for the crispy beef and the Korean chicken wings, the beef didn't have much beef in at all (mostly veg) and was very stale. The wings were so bland it seemed as though they hadn't even been seasoned never mind given the Korean sauce that it states on the menu. For the mains, the steaks were very good but came with chips and onion rings that had clearly been cooked from frozen, not what you expect when you're paying over £25 for a main course. Even though the staff were excellent, I think the menu/food choice from head office and execution in the kitchen made me decide I definitely won't be back again.

We thought this was going to be miller and Carter style steak. More like wetherspoons steak at Miller and Carter prices. Definitely avoid if you'd rather pay £1 for a bag of chips from Iceland (instead of £4!!) diabolical meal, will not be returning.

Staying at the attached Premier Inn. Having traveled for 4 hrs from Stevenage to Newcastle we were told by the maitre d that they had limited menu and we're not accepting "walk ins" the restaurant was pretty empty. So not taking No for an answer I booked online and got a table anyway. Food was fine they still had plenty of stuff available, and waiting for a table was not a problem. Just disappointed that they didn't just book a table for us when we turned up,

Food was absolutely brilliant; steak nice and tender and the staff were really friendly and attentive.

No better place to have a Steak. Choose your favourite and even have the size cut you require, cooked to your liking. Friendly, attentive staff.

First time we've been, really tasty food, good selection and big portions. Sunday lunch was excellent! Only complaint was that the service was a bit slow, but we will still be going back either for Sunday lunch again or steaks/burgers.

Stayed at the hotel & booked in for a meal, excellent service from start to finish, lots to choose from off the menu & the food was excellent , fresh & tasty, did not have to wait long either, comfy seating too.We had breakfast in the morning, much to choose from, fresh hot food & muvh more to choose from, coffee was excellent too, again Excellent service from all the staff, would 100% reccomend.

Eat Meat……frickin rad. Perfection. Clean. Perfect service witha smile. All you need to fill up on good piles of clean meat.Clean bathrooms. Family friendly but non family sectionsalso. Can be romantic. Food tastes amazing and feels good 👍
