Limited beer selection and expensive for what was available. Steak was cooked well, even though I had to remind waitress to note cooking preference.

Came here with my wife and a friend on Wednesday 2nd March. Barman was friendly enough, then just disappeared and never came back, we were sat there for 20 mins. Thought of trying to get someone's attention, but if they care that little about their customers in these troubled times, why should I.?

Excellent Gin selection, good vibe and friendly bar staff.

What a wonderful place, Can not fault our stay here. Location is excellent, parking near by, room was outstanding and the staff brilliant. Would definitely recommend and stay here again.

A rather disappointing visit, we've been in a couple of times just for drinks and service has always been very friendly. This time we wanted to try the restaurant so looked at their website menu and it was interesting and varied. However, when we were seated we were given a very limited menu that was just pub grub. If mentioned on website or when we booked it we would understand but it wasn't.We still ordered and it was ok but pub standard. My pie was burnt on top and covered up with gravy. I did mention this but staff didn't seem interested and did not want to make a fuss as with friends. A tray of glasses then was dropped over me but again did not make a fuss but offered anything to wipe myself down. After meal we decided to have a cocktail and a beer but told they had stopped serving them and had no ale. A bit surprised as only 9pm on a Saturday and they advertise as a cocktail bar.Altogether a very disappointing time.

Rooms are over the pub which doesn't close until 1am so can be very noisy. Hard to sleep with green glow from emergency exit and light from the street. Cracked wash basin and broken tap but the room itself was good. Good central location

We stumbled across this pub last weekend and instantly enjoyed the vibe, the bar staff are lovely and friendly. Great selection of wine, beer, spirits and cocktails. We have since decided this will be our new local and enjoyed a couple of evenings there and last night decided to try out the food.We weren't disappointed, everything tasted delicious the food came out quickly and hot, and our waiter Adam was friendly & helpful, we were able to enjoy the rest of our evening by moving from the kitchen side back to the bar area.We will definitely be looking to book here for food again.. the Sunday roasts look amazing so we definitely plan to try out them soon.

Very cozy place friendly staff awesome cocktails , drinks including food!

Table was cancelled 3 days before my booking, would be fine if it was any other occasion but with it being my graduation day and everything in town fully booked I'm not pleased. Currently stuck with no reservations to eat anywhere now on a day that I wanted to celebrate with family.

Pro:Friendly and speedy checkin.Phenomenal location, with close proximity to all that Winchester has to offer. My room( room 4) was a decent size, clean and maintained some beautiful original features.Great shower size.Cons:Noise from the street can very easily be heard. Noise/music from the bar can easily be heard too, albeit I was expecting this before the booking. This didn’t bother me much, but bring ear plugs if you are a light sleeper.Overall, a good place to stay, with a wonderful location.
