Food was excellent, but it is a shame that the warmest thing on this plate was the black pudding. Both the pork loin and mash could be a lot warmer.

I don't usually write online reviews but I wanted to shout about Chesil Rectory. I have now been twice and both times it has been outstanding. To begin with, it's a gorgeous building, beautifully decorated. I rang up beforehand as one of my party has a severe garlic allergy, which is often really difficult for fine dining restaurants to cater to. Not so at The Chesil Rectory where they spoke to the chef and gave her *almost* the full menu without garlic. She was so chuffed as it's hard for her to eat out, and for that alone I was really grateful. On the night... the team working there were outstanding - not too fussy or overbearing, just straight up and friendly and up for a laugh which we enjoyed. The food on our last visit was incredible - good quality, often local ingredients where you get good bang for you buck. The pork loin was a standout for me.The team called us a taxi at the end of the night and nothing was too much trouble. I would recommend Chesil Rectory for a special meal for anyone living or visiting Winchester. Thanks Chesil Rectory team!

This is a fancy restaurant! They have a limited option for foods, but go try them. You'll love what's on your plate! The staff are so friendly too.

We had the most wonderful Valentines Dinner with the best service! Very charming building and although it was busy the atmosphere was great! Nothing was too much trouble! Will definitely be back, thanks for the delicious food!

One of the best meals I've had in recent memory. Apart from the delicious food and drinks, the historic restaurant makes a lovely setting and the staff are so friendly and attentive. The free dessert bites at the end of the meal were a nice touch for a special occasion, would highly recommend!

Honestly one the best meals we've ever eaten, the food was beautiful, tasted amazing and decent serving size, definitely not left hungry. The wine list was extensive and tasted perfect. Atmosphere was wonderful, such a beautiful restaurant. The service was next to none, friendly and extremely professional. Value for money was amazing, honestly very reasonable price for what it was. Can't wait to go again!

This is a wonderful place to have a lovely meal with knowledgeable staff who offer courteous service. The experience was very pleasant from the starters to dessert, you will not be disappointed! They were also very accommodating in offering plant-based alternatives.

Visited here for the first time yesterday with my wife and 3 month old son. Staff were great throughout the whole experience. The food was exceptional, even the bread basket was bursting with flavour. The building and interior were lovely too, great atmosphere. Can't wait to go back. Highly recommended.
